UM Fencing Team won 2 Silvers & 2 Bronzes
at “2023 Macao Fencing Ranking Competition – Final”

The Macao Fencing Ranking Competition – Final, organized by Macao Fencing General Association, was held from 9-10 Dec at Macao East Asian Games Dome. A total of 101 local contestants from Macao higher education institutions and fencing clubs have participated in the tournament.

UM Fencing Team has sent 10 members to participate in 6 individual events, including Men’s Individual Epee (男子重劍), Women’s Individual Epee (女子重劍), Men’s Individual Foil (男子花劍), Women’s Individual Foil (女子花劍), Men’s Individual Sabre (男子佩劍) and Women’s Individual Sabre (女子佩劍) . The overall results are shown as below:

UM Fencing Team won 2 Gold Medals at

“2023 Greater Bay Area Higher Education Institution Elite Fencing Competition”

The “2023 Greater Bay Area Higher Education Institutions Elite Fencing Competition” was organized by City University of Macau Students’ Union Fencing Club and it was successfully held on 17-19 Nov 2023. There was a total of 33 contestants from four higher education institutions participating in this competition, they were:

• University of Macau (UM)
• City University of Macau (CityU, Macao)
• Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK)
• City University of Hong Kong (CityU, HK)

UM Fencing Team has sent 4 members to participate in 4 events, including Men’s Individual Sabre, Women’s Individual Sabre, Men’s Individual Epee and Women’s Individual Epee. The overall results are shown as below:

& Closing Ceremony

The “2023 UM Sports Fest” was kicked off on 7 Oct. After 3 weeks, 25 events including sports competition and sports experience were completed and the closing ceremony was held at N8 Sports Pavilion on 29 Oct. There were over 1,200 UM students, staff, alumni, UM Sports Volunteers and working personnel participated in the events of “2023 UM Sports Fest”.

UM Sports Fest is a signature annual event in our university. This year, it was jointly organized by the Office of Sports Affairs (OSA) & University of Macau Students’ Union Sports Association (SPA), co-organized by 5 Sports Group of UM Staff Sports Club (UMSSC) as well as 21 Sports Sub-clubs of UMSU. There are a total of there were 25 activities (10 sports experience and 15 competition events), including American Football, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Diabolo, Dragon Boat, Fencing, Football, Handball, Judo, Karate, Kinball, Korfball, Orienteering, Rock Climbing, Rowing, Squash, Table Tennis, Tchoukball, Tennis, Track and Field, and Volleyball).

We are also glad to share that over 400 audience attended the Men’s 5-on-5 Basketball Competition and the Closing Ceremony. The President of UMSU Sports Association, Ms. Vitoria Choi, attended the Closing Ceremony.

The 3rd Place match and Champion match of “Student Category – Men’s 5-on-5 Basketball Competition” were held before the closing ceremony, both the players and audiences enjoyed the games. The programme activity was held as follows:
