The freshmen group of UMPA is launched, let’s join!!

The freshmen group aims to answer questions for all new postgraduates, including visa application, medical examination, Postgraduate House check-in, transportation and other matters that face when they come to Macau.

It also provides a platform for the new postgraduates  to get to know new friends from the same faculty or professionals, so that the new students can familiar with the University of Macau and UMPA more easily.

關於澳門大學研究生會

澳門大學研究生會(University of Macau Postgraduate Association,英文簡稱為“UMPA”；葡文名稱為Associação de Pós-graduação da Universidade de Macau)成立於2006年7月，是澳門大學唯一認可的以全體研究生為服務對象的非牟利之獨立法人社團，亦是澳門青聯與澳門學聯的會員單位。

本會的組織構架分為會員大會、理事會和監事會，並下設18個屬會。作為全體研究生的代表，澳門大學研究生會參輿學校14個委員會各項決議的產生，同時也和學校各部門保持了非常密切的聯擊。

自成立以來，本會以“求是、科學、創新”為理念，以踐行澳門大學校訓“仁、義、禮、知、信”為己任，促進澳門大學研究生之全面發展；推動澳門大學研究生之間、研究生與本科生之間的學術、文化交流；維護澳門大學研究生之權益，推勤良好校園學術文化氛圈之形成；建立並加強與澳門本地各界、國內外相關機構及團體的友好社會聯繁。

Introduction of UMPA 

University of Macau Postgraduate Association (UMPA) was founded in July 2006 with the Portuguese name of Associação de Pós-graduação da Universidade de Macau, is a non-profit independent corporate body which is recognized by the University of Macau as the only organization with the object to provide service for all postgraduate students. Moreover, UMPA is also a member of the Macau Youth Federation, the largest social organization in Macau, and General Association of Chinese Student of Macau.

UMPA is divided into General Assembly, the Board of Directors and the Board of Supervisors, and has 18 affiliated organizations. As a representative of all postgraduate students, UMPA is often involved in resolutions of 14 committees of the University and has kept close contact with all sectors in University of Macau.

Since its establishment, UMPA has always been practicing the core values of “Humanity, Integrity, Propriety, Wisdom and Sincerity” of University of Macau, and UMPA made the concept of “Seeking Truth, Exploring Science and Pioneering New Trails” as its main mission. We have done a great job in promoting the academic atmosphere, developing the overall quality of postgraduates and enhancing the academic and cultural exchanges. Furthermore, we also put enormous efforts in establishing and strengthening social contacts with local communities, relevant institutions and organizations home and abroad.

The Student Leadership Training Program held a multicultural carnival event named “Macao Street Tour” on the afternoon of April 21 at the Student Activity Center. The event showcased the cultural characteristics of different countries and regions through multiple themed booths named after streets with Macau’s unique features, interactive games, information exhibitions, and souvenir-making activities, allowing participants to gain a deeper understanding and experience of the communication and integration between different cultures. The event aimed to promote students’ recognition and understanding of multiculturalism and encourage them to establish cross-cultural friendships and collaborations through communication and interaction.

The “Macao Street Tour” event received active participation and an enthusiastic response from students. After the activity, participants left feedback in the form of notes and expressed that the event was very interesting and meaningful. They benefited greatly from it.

Student Leadership Training Programme was established in 2020 with the aim to nurture and develop students’ leadership qualities through different activities and training, enhance their self-confidence, communication and independent thinking skills.
