澳大舞蹈隊欣賞多媒體水墨舞蹈劇場《流轉之間》

為提升學生藝術感悟及欣賞能力，澳大舞蹈團於2023年11月25日在澳門文化中心舉辦欣賞舞劇《流轉之間》的活動，在教練的帶領下，15名舞蹈隊成員欣賞由英姿舞園主辦，啓發自物理學家霍金 -《時間簡史》一書的多媒體水墨舞台。

是次活動旨在透過藝術欣賞，增加學生對多媒體融合舞蹈的展現方式及效果的了解，以及提升肢體的運用及編舞技巧，並從中獲得靈感和啟發，激發學生去構想自己的未來的展演作品。

UM Dance Troupe appreciated the Multimedia Ink Dance Theatre “Beyond TiMe”

To enhance students’ artistic perception and appreciation abilities, the University of Macau Dance Troupe (UMDT) organized an art appreciation to enjoy the multimedia ink dance theatre “Beyond TiMe” on 25 November 2023 at the Macao Cultural Centre. Organized by the Ieng Chi Dance Association, “Beyond TiMe” drew inspiration from the renowned physicist Stephen Hawking’s book “A Brief History of Time”.

Led by one of the UMDT coaches, the 15 members of the Dance Troupe had the opportunity to enhance their understanding of the presentation methods and effects of multimedia-integrated dance performances. This experience also helped improve their utilization of physical movements and choreographic skills, while simultaneously inspiring them and providing valuable insights to pave the way for creating their future dance works.

Photo Sharing: UM Symphonic Band “UMSB goes Jazz” Concert

“UMSB goes Jazz” concert, which was held on 17 November 2023 last Friday, was a resounding success that left the audience in awe. The N2-University Hall was filled with around 600 audience. The concert showcased a mesmerizing fusion of traditional jazz elements with the unique style of the University Music Symphonic Band (UMSB). The audience was captivated by the soulful melodies and improvisations that echoed throughout the hall. The band’s exceptional performance, coupled with the vibrant energy of the audience, created an unforgettable experience.

Under the skilled guidance of conductor Mr. Ng Sa, the UMSB delivered a flawless performance that left the audience yearning for more. Mr. Ng Sa’s ability to connect with the audience was evident as cheers and applause filled the hall after each piece. His infectious passion for jazz resonated with both the band members and the audience. The concert also featured guest players who added an extra layer of brilliance to the already outstanding performance. They were Mr. Lam Chak Seng on the Alto Saxophone, Mr. Ivan Pineda on the electric bass, and Mr. Sam Ka Lon on the Tuba.

As the concert reached its climax, the audience could not contain their enthusiasm and screamed for encores. The UMSB and the guest players graciously obliged, treating the audience to additional captivating performances that left everyone on their feet.

The String Orchestra x California Baptist University “String Companion” concert held on 6 November 2023 was a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. Under the expert guidance of Prof. Gene Moon, the Director of Orchestral Studies and Associate Dean of Outreach and Community Engagement for the Collinsworth School of Performing Arts at California Baptist University, the concert showcased the immense talent and dedication of the participating students.

As the conductor, Prof. Gene Moon skillfully led the orchestra through a repertoire that captivated the audience from start to finish. His expertise and passion for music shone through, creating a truly memorable experience for both the performers and the attendees. The student from UM String Orchestra, had the privilege of collaborating with Prof. Moon and undoubtedly benefited from his guidance and mentorship.

The enthusiasm and enjoyment of the students were palpable throughout the concert. Their hard work and countless hours of rehearsal paid off, as they delivered a performance that was both technically impressive and emotionally engaging. The students’ dedication to their craft was evident, and their passion for music resonated with the audience, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere in the theater.

The fact that the theatre contained a full house that night further speaks to the popularity and reputation of the String Orchestra x California Baptist University concert. The String Orchestra x California Baptist University “String Companion” concert was a remarkable celebration of music and talent. Prof. Gene Moon’s exceptional conducting, combined with the students’ dedication and love for their craft, resulted in a truly memorable evening.
