澳大與氣象局簽署合作協議 加強人工智能於氣象災害應用

為進一步提升氣象災害的監測及預報預警能力,加強人工智能技術於氣象災害中的應用,澳門特別行政區政府地球物理暨氣象局局長梁永權與澳門大學校長宋永華共同簽署《澳門大學與澳門地球物理暨氣象局合作框架協議》,雙方期望以澳大智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室為平台,充分發揮彼此在氣象預報預警、城市公共安全及災害防治領域的優勢,攜手為澳門建設智慧型韌性城市提供技術支撐。

澳大近年在颱風、極端暴雨等濱海城市防災減災領域已取得顯著進展,澳大智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室亦已開發澳門城市水災害模擬平台,並基於特徵融合的寬度學習系統開發了高效的颱風識別模型。是次簽署作為長期合作機制的良好開端,雙方將攜手在風暴潮、海嘯、氣象監測預測、人工智能及機器學習的技術應用、業務預報系統研究開發、災害風險評估、監測儀器設備及人員交流互訪等方面展開務實的合作,並積極實現各類監測預報資料的共享應用,推進高校科技成果落地應用,共同提升雙方的科研及業務水平,強化澳門氣象及海洋防災減災的能力。

是次簽署於雙方代表團見證下在澳大進行,同時開展首場交流座談,共同就首階段的合作進行探討及交流。此外,雙方亦實地參觀澳大智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室,以進一步瞭解有關實驗室的運作及科研水平。

UM, SMG sign cooperation agreement to enhance AI application in meteorological disaster management

To enhance Macao’s capabilities to monitor and forecast meteorological disasters and to promote the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in meteorological disaster management, Yonghua Song, rector of the University of Macau (UM), and Leong Weng Kun, director of the Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) of the Macao SAR Government, signed a framework agreement on cooperation between UM and SMG. The two parties hope to utilise UM’s State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City as a platform to leverage their respective strengths in weather forecasting, early warning systems, urban public safety and disaster prevention, as well as to jointly provide technological support to develop Macao into a smart and resilient city.

According to the agreement, UM and SMG will collaborate in various areas, including monitoring and forecasting storm surges, tsunamis, and weather conditions, as well as the application of AI and machine learning technologies. They will also focus on research and development of operational forecast systems, risk assessment of disasters, instruments and equipment used in meteorological monitoring, as well as personnel exchange. The two parties will also actively share different types of monitoring and forecasting information. The agreement signing ceremony was held at UM, followed by an exchange session where both parties explored the first phase of cooperation.

澳大澳門中藥檢測中心通過國家多項能力驗證

澳門大學澳門中藥檢測中心通過中國合格評定國家認可委員會(CNAS)的現場評審並獲認證。中心表示,為向澳門中藥產業發展提供有力的技術支持和保障,該中心積極參與多項能力驗證。

澳大澳門中藥檢測中心參加了五項理化項目的能力驗證,包括大連中食國實檢測技術有限公司(CNAS參考實驗室)組織的“中藥材樣品中黃麯霉毒素B1”測量審核、“中藥材中二氧化硫殘留量測定”和“中藥材中水胺硫磷、久效磷和甲拌磷農藥殘留量的測定”能力驗證,以及中國檢驗檢疫科學研究院組織的“中藥材中鉛、鎘、汞和砷的測定”能力驗證,多個濃度水平的樣品檢測結果均為“滿意”。

此外,中心還在由廣東省市場監督管理局組織的2023年度檢驗檢測機構能力驗證項目—“食用油中的黃麯霉毒素B1測定” 中獲得優異成績。是次能力驗證共有粵港澳200多家檢測實驗室參加,樣品基體複雜、干擾多,檢測難度大,中心的技術人員嚴格按照標準操作步驟,採用免疫親和柱處理、加標回收、人員比對等方式開展實驗。

在著力開展理化檢測項目的同時,中心重視中藥微生物檢測技術的開展和技能提高,在中國檢驗檢疫科學研究院組織的中藥產品非無菌產品微生物限度檢查的能力驗證—“微生物(需氧菌總數計數、黴菌和酵母菌總數計數)的計數”和“控製菌(銅綠假單胞菌)檢查能力”,獲滿意結果。

能力驗證是通過對同一項目在相同規則下,在不同實驗室取得的檢測資料進行比較,從而客觀反映檢測機構檢測能力的實驗活動,也是CNAS對實驗室檢測能力最直接有效的評價方法之一。中心通過參加能力驗證,不僅驗證了檢測技術能力,還強化了專業思維和人員能力監督,為保證檢測結果準確可靠、達到CNAS認證認可的技術能力要求提供了客觀證據。

澳大澳門中藥檢測中心將繼續嚴格按照質量體系的要求,持續提升人員中藥材檢測的技術水平,不斷拓寬檢測能力範圍,為迎接CNAS的擴項評審作出充分的準備,為澳門中藥產業發展提供有力的技術支持和保障。

UM’s Macao Centre for Testing of Chinese Medicine passes multiple national proficiency testing

The Macao Centre for Testing of Chinese Medicine (MCTCM) of the University of Macau (UM) has successfully passed the on-site assessments conducted by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS) and has obtained corresponding accreditations. According to MCTCM, the centre actively engages in a number of proficiency testing in order to provide solid technical support and ensure the development of the Chinese medicine industry in Macao.

MCTCM underwent the proficiency testing of five chemical markers in Chinese medicine conducted by the Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine and China CFAPA Testing Technology Company Limited of Dalian. The results of the sample tests for aflatoxin B1, sulphur dioxide residues, residues of pesticides such as isocarbophos, monocrotophos, and phorate, as well as lead, cadmium, mercury, and arsenic, were ‘satisfactory’. In addition, MCTCM achieved excellent results in the proficiency testing of aflatoxin B1 in cooking oil conducted by the Guangdong Administration for Market Regulation. The centre also obtained satisfactory results in the microbiological examination of non-sterile products of Chinese medicine conducted by the Chinese Academy of Inspection and Quarantine.

大頒發飛歷奇博士最佳葡語學術論文獎

在傑出土生葡人作家及律師飛歷奇誕辰100周年之際,澳門大學頒發飛歷奇博士最佳葡語學術論文獎,以表彰在葡語研究領域取得卓越成績的研究生。

該獎項獲澳門大學發展基金會資助。2021/2022及2022/2023學年最佳葡語博士及碩士論文分別由澳大人文學院葡文系博士生Francisco Manuel Pelicano Antunes、Carla Alexandra Santos Lopes和郎思達,以及法學院法學碩士生梁建民獲得,澳大副校長馬許願及澳門土生協會理事長飛文基共同向獲獎者頒獎。

馬許願感謝澳門大學發展基金會對該奬項的支持,並表示澳大一直深化與葡萄牙院校合作、培養雙語人才,期望透過這個獎項鼓勵澳大博士及碩士研究生在葡語相關領域的學術研究,提高論文的學術水準及加強研究能力。飛文基感謝澳大以其父之名設立獎項並祝賀所有獲奬者。

UM presents Henrique de Senna Fernandes Academic Prize for the Best Portuguese Thesis

On the occasion of the centenary of the birth of the outstanding Macanese writer and lawyer Henrique de Senna Fernandes, the University of Macau (UM) presented the Henrique de Senna Fernandes Academic Prize for the Best Portuguese Thesis. The prize recognises postgraduate students who have demonstrated excellent academic performance in Portuguese-related fields.

The prize is funded by the University of Macau Development Foundation (UMDF). Francisco Manuel Pelicano Antunes, Carla Alexandra Santos Lopes, and Lang Sida, doctoral students in the Department of Portuguese of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, and Leong Kin Man, a master’s student in the Faculty of Law, were awarded the prize for best doctoral theses and best master’s thesis in Portuguese for the 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 academic years, respectively. Rui Martins, vice rector of UM, and Miguel de Senna Fernandes, president of Associação dos Macaenses, presented the prize to the awardees.

Martins expressed his gratitude to UMDF for their support of the prize and said that UM is committed to deepening its cooperation with Portuguese universities and research institutions, as well as cultivating bilingual talent. He expressed hope that the prize will encourage doctoral and master’s students at the university to improve the quality of their theses and strengthen their research capacity in Portuguese-related fields. Fernandes also expressed his gratitude to the university for establishing the prize in his father’s name and congratulated all the awardees.

A UM atribui o “Prémio Académico Henrique de Senna Fernandes para as Melhores Teses”

Por ocasião do 100º aniversário do nascimento do notável escritor e advogado macaense, Henrique de Senna Fernandes, a Universidade de Macau criou o “Prémio Académico Henrique de Senna Fernandes para as Melhores Teses” como reconhecimento dos estudantes de pós-graduação que obtiveram resultados notáveis no campo dos estudos portugueses.

O prémio é financiado pela Fundação para o Desenvolvimento da Universidade de Macau (UMDF). As melhores teses de doutoramento e de mestrado portuguesas nos anos letivos 2021/2022 e 2022/2023 foram conquistadas respetivamente por Francisco Manuel Pelicano Antunes, Carla Alexandra Santos Lopes e Lang Sida , alunos de doutoramento da UM do Departamento de Português da Faculdade de Letras (FAH) , e Leong Kin Man, alunos de LLM da Faculdade de Direito (FLL). O Vice-Reitor para Assuntos Globais da UM, Prof. Rui Martins e o presidente da Associação dos Macaenses, Dr. Miguel de Senna Fernandes, entregaram os prémios aos vencedores do Departamento de Português da FAH e da FLL, respetivamente.

O Prof. Martins agradeceu à UMDF pelo apoio ao prémio. A UM não poupou esforços no aprofundamento da sua cooperação com universidades e instituições de investigação portuguesas e cultivando talentos bilingues.Através deste prémio, esperamos encorajar os estudantes de doutoramento e mestrado da UM a realizarem investigação académica em áreas relacionadas com o português, melhorarem os padrões académicos dos seus artigos e reforçarem as suas capacidades de investigação. 澳大學生獲“挑戰盃”全國特等獎

有當代大學生科技創新的“奧林匹克”盛會之稱的“挑戰盃”全國大學生課外學術科技作品競賽在貴州大學舉行。澳門大學學生的作品在全國超過40萬份作品中脫穎而出,贏得一項特等獎、一項一等獎、一項二等獎及兩項三等獎,再次成為澳門區唯一贏得特等獎及一等獎的高校。

“挑戰盃”全國大學生課外學術科技作品競賽是全國規模最大、最具影響力的學術科技創新賽事,由共青團中央、中國科協、教育部、全國學聯和地方政府共同主辦,內地著名大學、新聞媒體聯合發起。今屆競賽共吸引全國2000多所高校、40多萬份作品、250多萬學生參與,頒發特等獎117項,一等獎203項、二等獎377項及三等獎974項。

今屆挑戰盃澳門代表團團長及副團長由澳大中華醫藥研究院助理教授鍾章鋒及副教授陳勁出任,率澳門多所院校學生代表參賽。澳大五個參賽作品全部獲獎,其中澳大特等獎作品“基於物聯網邊緣計算和多維度安全監控的智慧電梯系統”由澳大智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室、科技學院及協同創新研究院學生周乃越、陳國齊、龔穎在科技學院副教授楊志新的指導下完成設計研發。項目開發了基於智慧物聯網的垂直交通安全監控與健康管理系統,在電梯核心機電部件安全監控部分,研製集群化狀態分析的邊緣觸發機制與遠端綜合監控的一體化物聯網架構,設計無線傳感器實現動態採集和多模態感知,構建規範化的故障知識圖譜,提出基於圖神經網路的複合故障診斷演算法。在電梯使用安全方面,研製轎廂乘員異常行為監控預警模型和物聯網多感測器冗餘感知,實現閾值告警和遠端通訊,並結合目標檢測技術實現廂體內部環境即時監控。項目成果實現了電梯的現場應用驗證,提升了智慧社區回家最後100米的公共安全智慧化監控水準。

澳大一等獎作品“聚合調控用戶側大規模負荷的能源管理系統”由澳大智慧城市物聯網國家重點實驗室智慧能源組隊伍設計。隊伍導師為研究助理教授惠紅勛,隊長為學生陳倫澍,核心成員包括學生王可欣、劉小天、李嘉赫、何可成、張嘉鈺等。作品針對快速增長的新能源給電力系統帶來了更多波動性,對維持系統平衡的調節資源提出了更高的要求。為了積極回應國家“雙碳”號召,提高新能源消納能力,團隊開發了一個聚合調控用戶側大規模負荷的智能轉接終端,能夠高效聚合調控區域內的負荷資源,為電力系統平衡提供輔助調節服務,提高電力系統靈活性。

澳大二等獎作品“適用於物聯網應用的低功耗、寬溫度範圍、高精度的開關電容器網絡帶隙參考電壓源芯片”由科技學院學生李俊輝及張政浩設計,科技學院及微電子研究院副教授林智聲指導;三等獎作品 “中藥植物外泌體超純提取方式及衍生天然功能產品開發”由中華醫藥研究院學生石瑞鵬、李斯辰、鄭文穎及陳筱禕設計,中華醫藥研究院助理教授鍾章鋒指導;另一三等獎作品是“貓貓管家”由鄭裕彤書院創業小組學生黃心玥及Edison Fong Cheu設計,該書院導師鄧宇明指導。

澳大近年持續加強學生的科技創新教育,以培養具有國際視野的創新型科技人才為目標,為學生的科技創作及產學研發展提供平台,引導和鼓勵學生在科技創新實踐中創新創優、攻克技術難關。是次獲獎反映了澳大師生在機電工程與公共安全、智慧能源、電源管理集成電路、中醫藥、創新創業等專業領域的實力、解難能力及創造力。

UM students win top prize at the ‘Challenge Cup’

Students of the University of Macau (UM) participated in the ‘Challenge Cup’ National College Students’ Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest. The five participating projects of UM stood out from more than 400,000 entries from all over the country and won a top prize, a first prize, a second prize, and two third prizes. UM once again was the only higher education institution in Macao to win both top prize and first prize in the contest.

Zhong Zhangfeng, and Chan Ging, professors at UM’s Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS), were the head and the deputy head of the Macao delegation to the Challenge Cup. They led students of several Macao higher education institutions to take part in the contest. Zhou Naiyue, Chen Guoqi, and Gong Ying, students at UM’s State Key Laboratory of Internet of Things for Smart City (SKL-IOTSC), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), and Institute of Collaborative Innovation, respectively, won a top prize for their project on a smart elevator system based on IoT edge computing and multi-dimensional security monitoring The team designed and developed the project under the guidance of Yang Zhixin, associate professor in FST. In addition, guided by Hui Hongxun, research assistant professor in SKL-IOTSC, students Chen Lunshu, Wang Kexin, Liu Xiaotian, Li Jiahe, He Kecheng, and Zhang Jiayu in SKL-IOTSC developed their project on an energy management system for large-scale aggregated regulation of user-side load and captured a first prize in the contest. In addition, FST students Lee Chon Fai and Zhang Zhenghao were awarded a second prize for their project. Two student teams, one formed by ICMS students Shi Rui Peng, Li Sichen, Zheng Wenying, and Chen Xiaoyi, and another formed by Wong Sam Ut, and Edison Fong Cheu, received a third prize respectively.

澳大普通話辯論隊第十次獲澳門高校辯論賽冠軍

澳門大學普通話辯論隊在澳門特別行政區政府教育及青年發展局主辦的“第21屆澳門高等院校學生辯論比賽”中再次奪冠,這是他們第10次在該賽奪得冠軍。另外,澳大人文學院碩士生王浩然獲決賽“最佳辯手”獎。

澳大隊伍於初賽第一場“外來文化會不會威脅本土文化的生存” 表現出色,以4:1擊敗澳門科技大學隊伍。澳大人文學院、張崑崙書院學生張鈺芃獲該場“最佳辯手”獎。初賽第二場以“人工智能‘翻唱’及‘換臉’技術有利/不利娛樂產業發展”為辯題,澳大隊伍以5:0的成績戰勝澳門鏡湖護理學院隊伍,澳大人文學院、呂志和書院學生胡祖銘獲該場“最佳辯手”獎。準決賽辯題為“本澳應/不應實行‘演唱會門票實名制’”,澳大隊伍以4:1的成績戰勝澳門旅遊學院隊伍,胡祖銘再獲該場“最佳辯手”獎。

決賽辯題為“引進人才/培養人才比培養人才/引進人才更有利於本澳社會發展”,雙方隊伍在澳門時代背景、教育現況、人才需求、整體規劃等方面展開激烈辯論。最終,澳大以3:2戰勝澳門科技大學奪得冠軍。

澳大隊員包括張鈺芃、胡祖銘、王浩然,科技學院、張崑崙書院學生洪冰菁,科技學院博士生雷珺妍,工商管理學院、滿珍紀念書院學生遲晶予,工商管理學院、呂志和書院學生黎樂霖,工商管理學院、鄭裕彤書院學生林卓誠,工商管理學院碩士生陳欣澤,社會科學學院、霍英東珍禧書院學生陳泓熹和中華醫藥研究院碩士生張帆。

是次比賽由澳門演辯文化協會協辦,並獲澳門廉政公署和澳門科學館支持。比賽旨在通過競爭培養學生的邏輯思考、語言表達和應變能力,同時加強不同院校之間的交流。普通話組別的參賽院校包括澳門大學、澳門科技大學、澳門理工大學、澳門城市大學、澳門旅遊學院、澳門鏡湖護理學院和聖若瑟大學。

UM Mandarin Debating Team wins championship at local inter-university debate competition

The University of Macau (UM) Mandarin Debating Team won the championship at a local inter-university debate competition for higher education students organised by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of the Macao SAR Government. This is their tenth time winning a championship at the competition. A total of seven higher education institutions in Macao joined this year’s competition. The UM Mandarin Debating Team beat their counterparts in two rounds of preliminaries and the semi-final. In the final competition, the team defeated the team from the Macau University of Science and Technology and won the championship. Zhang Yupeng and Hu Zuming, students in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), won the Best Debater Awards in the preliminaries, and Wang Haoran, a master’s student in FAH, captured the Best Debater Award in the final competition.

澳大與何鴻燊醫療基金會合辦傑出學者論壇

澳門大學與何鴻燊博士醫療拓展基金會聯合舉辦“揚帆追夢、創啟未來”資助計劃之2023傑出學者論壇,超過150名學者、專家、業界人士、科研人員及學生參與,就健康科學及大數據醫療應用的最新研究展開交流和討論。

澳大副校長葛偉表示,澳大十分感謝何鴻燊博士醫療拓展基金會設立主題為“揚帆追夢、創啟未來”的資助計劃,用於支持澳大科研人員進行研究及遠赴海外交流,幫助澳大不斷提升生命科學的研究水平。是次傑出學者論壇不僅加強了公眾對健康科學的認識,也促進了科研成果轉化以造福人類,共同探索和討論科學創新技術。

何鴻燊博士醫療拓展基金會行政委員會主席禤永明表示,資助計劃旨在為澳門的科學創新和技術轉化出力,論壇能為專家學者提供一個平台,讓他們展示健康科學及大數據醫療應用的最新研究進展,同時也為研究人員和學生提供了與知名學者互動、探索合作的寶貴機會。

澳大健康科學學院院長鄧初夏感謝基金會對澳大科研的大力支持,並表示學院將繼續在生物醫學領域上與全球的專家學者攜手合作,共同探索和創造具前瞻性的研究成果,努力實踐基金會“提升澳門的醫療科技水平”的宗旨。

論壇邀請了香港中文大學醫學院教授、世界知名骨外科學領域學者李剛作為演講嘉賓,就牽拉成組織技術用於肢體延長治療矮小症和不對稱肢體,糾正脊柱側彎,治療糖尿病足、骨關節炎、顱骨損傷、老年癡呆等最新研究成果和臨床應用進行分享。澳大健康科學學院副教授黃冠豪、代雲路、趙琦和中華醫藥研究院教授王瑞兵分享了各受資助項目的研究進展和成果。

UM, Dr. Stanley Ho Medical Development Foundation jointly hold Distinguished Scholars Forum

The University of Macau (UM) and Dr. Stanley Ho Medical Development Foundation (SHMDF) jointly held the 2023 Distinguished Scholars Forum as part of the ‘Set Sail for New Horizons, Create the Future’ Grant. More than 150 scholars, experts, practitioners, researchers, and students participated in the forum to discuss and exchange on the latest research on health sciences and big data healthcare applications.

In his welcome remarks, Ge Wei, vice rector of UM, expressed his gratitude to SHMDF for setting up the ’Set Sail for New Horizons, Create the Future’ Grant, which supports UM researchers in their research and exchanges abroad, and helps the university enhance its research in the field of life sciences. The Distinguished Scholars Forum not only strengthened the public’s understanding of health sciences, but also provided a platform for the exploration and discussions on innovative technologies and facilitated the commercialisation of research results for the benefit of mankind.

Huen Wing Ming, chairman of the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors of SHMDF, said that the grant aims to contribute to scientific innovation and technological transfer in Macao. The forum provided a platform for experts and scholars to present the latest developments in health science research and big data applications in healthcare, as well as an opportunity for researchers and students to interact and explore collaboration with renowned scholars.

Chuxia Deng, dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), thanked SHMDF for its staunch support for UM’s research. He remarked that FHS will continue to work with experts and scholars from around the world in the field of biomedicine to explore and produce cutting-edge research results, putting into practice SHMDF’s mission ‘improving the quality of medical service in Macau’.

Prof Li Gang, professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, who is a world-renowned scholar in the field of orthopaedic surgery, was invited as a guest speaker. He presented the latest research results and clinical applications of distraction histogenesis (DH) techniques in cosmetic limb lengthening surgery in the treatment of dwarfism and asymmetry, as well as in the treatment of scoliosis, diabetic foot, osteoarthritis, craniofacial injury, and Alzheimer’s disease. Associate Professors Wong Koon Ho, Dai Yunlu, and Zhao Qi in FHS, and Wang Ruibing, professor in the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS), also shared their research progress and the results of the funded projects.

Those attending the forum also included Van Iat Kio, president of Kiang Wu Nursing College of Macau; Michael Ching, director of operations (Macao) of SHMDF; Poon Kai Tik, director of operations (Hong Kong) of SHMDF; Lei Chi Fong, head of the Pharmacy Division of the Health Bureau of the Macao SAR Government; Chen Xin, director of UM’s ICMS; Tang Zhikang, director of UM’s Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering; Xu Renhe, associate dean of UM’s FHS; and Leung Lai Han, head of UM’s Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

德國康斯特大學訪澳大促科研合作

德國康斯特大學(Constructor University)代理常務副校長Werner Nau率團訪問澳門大學,與澳大校長宋永華、副校長馬許願等會面,探討進一步拓展兩校科教合作項目。

宋永華表示,澳大一直致力與海外一流高校深化合作,自今年4月與康斯特大學簽署合作備忘錄和學生交換協議,兩校一直保持良好的交流和合作。Werner Nau表示,康斯特大學高度重視與澳大的合作夥伴關係,期望藉是次回訪務實推進兩校在重點科研領域上的合作和交流。

代表團還訪問了澳大中華醫藥研究院,與該院院長陳新、課程主任吳靄琳、教授梁重恒等座談,就生物化學領域的科研合作進行交流。代表團亦參觀了該研究院的科研設施、大學展館、圖書館及霍英東珍禧書院。

代表團成員還包括德國康斯特大學管理主任Maja Feldt。澳大圖書館館長吳建中、全球事務總監王瑞兵、霍英東珍禧書院副院長蔣怡等亦參與接待。

Delegation from Constructor University visits UM to promote research collaboration

A delegation led by Werner Nau, interim provost of Constructor University, visited the University of Macau (UM). They met with UM Rector Yonghua Song and Vice Rector Rui Martins to explore the further development of collaboration projects between the two universities in research and teaching.

Song said that UM has been committed to deepening its cooperation with leading higher education institutions overseas. Since the signing of the memorandum of understanding and student exchange agreement with Constructor University in April this year, the two universities have engaged in productive exchanges and cooperation. Nau said that Constructor University attaches great importance to its partnership with UM and looks forward to promoting cooperation and exchanges between the two universities in key research areas through the visit.

The delegation also visited UM’s Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences (ICMS) and had a meeting with ICMS Director Chen Xin, Programme Coordinator Ung Oi Lam, and Prof Leung Chung Hang, and exchanged views on research collaboration in the field of biochemistry. The delegation also visited ICMS’s research facilities, the University Gallery, the UM library, and Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College.

Members of the delegation also included Maja Feldt, managing director of Constructor University. UM representatives assisting in guest reception included Wu Jianzhong, university librarian of UM; Wang Ruibing, director of the Global Affairs Office; and Jiang Yi, associate master of Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College.

英國劍橋大學卡萊爾堂(Clare Hall of University of Cambridge)院長艾倫‧肖特(C. Alan Short)今(9)日訪問澳門大學,雙方就客座研究員計劃的合作進行座談交流。此外,艾倫‧肖特以 “大陸性氣候中的低碳建築” 為題於澳大開講。

代表團獲澳大校長宋永華、副校長莫啓明等熱情接待,並參觀了澳大大學展館及圖書館,深入了解澳大的發展現況、科研佈局和國際化戰略。期間,澳大全球事務總監王瑞兵介紹澳大的校園設計,肖特對澳大的校園建築與設計給予高度評價。

澳大與劍橋大學卡萊爾堂於2006年首次開展客座研究員計劃,以促進雙方學者及研究員之間的研究和學術合作。卡萊爾堂是劍橋大學的一所研究生院,其匯聚人才、國際多元的高級研究中心享負盛名,吸引世界各地高等院校的學者前往作客座研究員。澳大與劍橋大學卡萊爾堂多年來保持良好的聯繫和合作關係,期望通過互訪推進更多元化、更深入的合作和交流。

艾倫‧肖特作為劍橋大學榮譽建築學教授,此行亦應邀以 “大陸性氣候中的低碳建築”為題舉行大學講壇。講座上,肖特介紹了可持續建築在全球暖化環境下所扮演的角色,並透過環保設計策略、在建築方案中採納令自然環境得以恢復等技術,達至可持續發展。相關研究在當代建築中有著重大深遠的意義。肖特也介紹了其跨學科研究團隊在低碳建築及城市建設中所作出的努力及獲獎項目。講座吸引一眾澳大師生及公眾人士參與,氣氛熱烈。

英國劍橋大學卡萊爾堂代表團成員還包括校友及捐贈關係副主任Francé Davies。澳大蔡繼有書院院長梁美兒、馬萬祺羅柏心書院院長楊柳及何鴻燊東亞書院院長姚偉彬亦參與了接待工作。

Cambridge representative visits UM and gives talk on low-carbon buildings

C. Alan Short, president of Clare Hall at the University of Cambridge, led a delegation to visit the University of Macau (UM) today (9 November). The Cambridge delegation had discussions and exchanged views on the Visiting Fellowship Programme with UM. Prof Short also gave a talk titled ‘Low-Carbon Buildings in Continental Climates’ at UM.

The delegation from Clare Hall, Cambridge was warmly received by UM Rector Yonghua Song and Vice Rector Mok Kai Meng, and other representatives. They visited the University Gallery and UM library, gaining a deep understanding of UM’s developments, research layout, and internationalisation strategy. During the visit, Wang Ruibing, director of the Global Affairs Office, introduced the campus design of UM to the delegation, and Prof Short spoke highly of the campus architecture and design of the university.

UM’s Cambridge Clare Hall Visiting Fellowship Programme, which began in 2006, aims to promote research and academic collaboration between the scholars and researchers at UM and Clare Hall at the University of Cambridge. As a graduate college at the University of Cambridge, Clare Hall is renowned for its international diversity and intellectually dynamic environment for advanced studies, attracting visiting scholars from universities around the world. Over the years, UM and Clare Hall have maintained a good relationship and cooperation. It is hoped that this partnership will continue to foster diverse and profound cooperation and exchanges through mutual visits.

As the professor of architecture emeritus at the University of Cambridge, Prof Short also gave a talk titled ‘Low-Carbon Buildings in Continental Climates’ at UM as part of the University Lecture Series. During the talk, he discussed the role of sustainable buildings in the context of global warming and presented the eco-friendly design strategies and technologies implemented in architecture to facilitate the restoration of the natural environment and thereby promote sustainable development. The related studies also hold significant importance in contemporary architecture. In addition, Prof Short introduced the efforts and award-winning projects of his interdisciplinary research team in the fields of low-carbon buildings and urban development. The talk attracted participation of many UM faculty, students, and members of the general public.

The delegation from Clare Hall, Cambridge also included Francé Davies, deputy director of Alumni and Donor Relations. Choi Kai Yau College Master Janny Leung May Yee, Ma Man Kei and Lo Pak Sam College Master Yang Liu, and Stanley Ho East Asia College Master Iu Vai Pan were among the UM representatives to receive the delegation.

澳大與何鴻燊博士醫療拓展基金會合辦人工智慧與健康論壇

澳門大學與何鴻燊博士醫療拓展基金會於10月30至31日聯合舉辦“澳門人工智慧與健康論壇”,匯聚頂尖研究人員、從業者和行業專家共同探討人工智慧和健康領域的最新進展和挑戰,為學術界、產業界和政府部門提供了重要的交流合作平台。

開幕式上,澳大副校長葛偉和何鴻燊博士醫療拓展基金會信託委員會暨行政委員會主席禤永明分別發表重要講話。葛偉強調人工智慧在醫療保健領域的巨大潛力,以及澳大推動技術創新和跨學科合作的承諾;禤永明則強調了對促進醫療保健領域創新的支持。雙方期望繼續支持和推進醫療保健於人工智慧領域的發展,為改善人民健康作出貢獻。

論壇演講嘉賓來自知名高校及機構,包括北京大學、香港中文大學、上海交通大學、山東大學、上海科技大學、朗來科技、齊魯製藥、中國科學院深圳先進技術研究院、薩里大學和廣州國家實驗室。他們分享了醫療保健於人工智慧方面的研究和實踐成果;深入探討了人工智慧在藥物發現和開發、高性能計算和人工智慧在醫療保健領域的大數據分析與應用。與會者積極參與討論,共同推動醫療保健領域人工智慧的發展。一眾嘉賓亦在論壇組織委員會主席兼澳大中華醫藥研究院副教授歐陽德方帶領下參觀了澳大中華醫藥研究院。

此外,論壇還設立了優秀海報獎,以表彰在人工智慧和醫療保健領域作出傑出貢獻的學生,鼓勵更多年輕人積極參與探索醫療保健領域的人工智慧。通過精心設計的海報,學生們展示了各自的研究成果和創新思想。

UM, Dr. Stanley Ho Medical Development Foundation jointly organise Macau Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Health

The University of Macau (UM) and Dr. Stanley Ho Medical Development Foundation jointly held the Macau Symposium on Artificial Intelligence and Health on 30 October and 31 October. The symposium brought together top researchers, practitioners, and industry experts to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and health, providing an important platform for exchange and cooperation between academia, industry, and government departments.

At the opening ceremony, Ge Wei, vice rector of UM, and Huen Wing Ming, chairman of the Board of Trustees and Board of Directors of the foundation, delivered a keynote speech respectively. Ge remarked on the immense potential of AI in the field of healthcare and UM’s commitment to promoting technological innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration, while Huen highlighted the foundation’s support for fostering innovation in the healthcare sector. Both parties look forward to supporting and promoting the development of healthcare in the context of AI and contributing to the improvement of people’s health.

The symposium featured speakers from prestigious higher education institutions and other institutes, including Peking University, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shandong University, ShanghaiTech University, Createrna Science and Technology Co Ltd, Qilu Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, University of Surrey, and Guangzhou National Laboratory. They shared their research and successful practices of AI in healthcare, and discussed in depth the applications of AI in drug discovery and development, high-performance computing, as well as big data analytics in the healthcare sector. The attendees actively engaged in the discussions, with the aim of driving the development of AI in healthcare. Led by Ouyang Defang, chairman of the organising committee of the symposium and associate professor at UM’s Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences, the guests visited the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences of UM.

In addition, the symposium included the presentation of the Outstanding Poster Award to recognise students who have made outstanding contributions in the field of AI and healthcare. The award also aimed to encourage more young individuals to actively explore the application of AI in healthcare. Through well-designed posters, the students showcased their research findings and innovative ideas.

The successful organisation of the symposium signifies Macao’s growing international influence in the field that spans AI and healthcare. It also injects new vitality into Macao’s technological innovation and sustainable development. The symposium has been recognised as a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Training Activity (Activity approval number: RE-CPD-226).

澳大校長率團出訪多所內地大學並簽合作協議

澳門大學校長宋永華率代表團訪問南京大學、南方科技大學及深圳大學,分別與各校代表進行深入會談並簽署多項合作協議,推動深化校際交流合作。

南京大學蘇州校區位於蘇州高新區,面向區域產業佈局,聚焦人工智能、信息技術、生命健康等重點領域和技術,是服務國家戰略和區域經濟社會發展的重大工程。澳大代表團獲該校校長談哲敏等代表熱情接待。雙方就學術合作、學科建設、科研創新、優化機制等方面深入交流,暢聊合作前景,並就繼續強強聯合達成共識,兩校將進一步提升合作交流水平,共同推動蘇港澳地區高等教育人才培養和科研創新,向建設中國特色世界一流大學的目標共同邁進。

訪問南方科技大學期間,宋永華與該校校長薛其坤簽署《澳門大學—南方科技大學戰略合作框架協議》,兩校將加強各學科領域的學術及科研合作,開展本科生推優項目合作,鼓勵教研人員聯合申報科研項目、促進科技成果轉化等。宋永華表示,南方科技大學一直是澳門大學重要的合作夥伴,兩校很早便開始共同探索學術科研合作和人才聯合培養,是次合作協議的簽署意味著兩校合作交流水平正式上升為戰略合作關係,期待兩校未來繼續攜手同行,共同推動粵港澳大灣區高等教育高質量發展。薛其坤亦表示,兩校一直都有良好的合作基礎,期望未來攜手推動大灣區高等教育共同體建設,打造大灣區高等教育合作新範式。澳大代表團亦參觀了南方科技大學校園發展與醫學院建設。

另外,宋永華亦與深圳大學校長毛軍發續簽《澳門大學—深圳大學教育和科學合作備忘錄》,兩校將繼續秉持互惠共贏、相互促進、共同發展的原則,加強交流合作,建立並維持長期友好合作關係。宋永華表示,兩校20多年前就建立合作關係,在學生交流交換、學術科研合作及聯合人才培養等方面不斷深化合作,期望兩校未來繼續優勢互補,為推動澳深兩地高等教育高質量發展作出積極貢獻。澳大代表團亦參觀了深圳大學校園發展與醫學部建設。

UM rector leads delegation to several universities in mainland and sign cooperation agreements

A delegation led by Yonghua Song, rector of the University of Macau (UM), recently visited Nanjing University, Southern University of Science and Technology, and Shenzhen University. The delegation met with the representatives of the visited universities and signed several cooperation agreements, with the aim of promoting inter-university exchanges and cooperation.

At Nanjing University (NJU) Suzhou campus, which is located within the Suzhou New District, the UM delegation was received by Tan Zhemin, president of NJU. The two parties had in-depth discussions on topics such as academic collaboration and research innovation, and explored potential cooperation. The two universities also reached a consensus to elevate the level of cooperation and jointly promote the cultivation of talent and research innovation in Suzhou, Hong Kong, and Macao.

During the visit to Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), Song signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Xue Qikun, president of SUSTech. According to the agreement, the two universities will strengthen cooperation in teaching and research in various disciplines, initiate cooperation in projects for outstanding undergraduate students, encourage joint research projects, and facilitate the commercialisation of research results. The delegation also visited the campus and the School of Medicine of SUSTech.

In addition, at Shenzhen University (SZU), Song renewed the memorandum of understanding on cooperation in teaching and research between UM and SZU with Mao Junfa, president of SZU. According to the agreement, the two universities will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation and maintain a long-term partnership. The UM delegation also visited the campus and the Medical School of SZU.
