“UM CICA – Swimming Pool Challenge Fun 2023” was held successfully on 20 Sep 2023 at UM Sports Complex (N8) and there was a total of 50 UM students participating in this activity.

In order to provide a platform for 10 residential colleges (RC) to have interaction and create great team bonding, Office of Sports Affairs (OSA) and Committee on Inter-College Affairs (CICA) co-organized this Challenge Fun activity, students could interact each other through designated team games.

A total of 10 RC teams participated in this activity for 4 games. The games showed their outstanding teamwork and impressive physical fitness performance, while the Cheng Yu Tung College (CYTC) team has shown stunning performance with the highest accumulative score among all teams. Choi Kai Yau College (CKYC) got the 1st Runner-up, Lui Che Woo College (LCWC) and Moon Chun Memorial College (MCMC)  joint the 2nd Runner-up in this activity. The participants enjoyed a lot in the activity with positive feedback.

	陳映君 (左一)  大二,  蔡繼有書院 我覺得水上挑戰賽作為本學年第一個CICA比賽，既展現了水上挑戰的趣味性，技巧性以及團隊合作性，也把CICA的競技性很好的展現給了大家。而且本次活動也給每個書院提供了更大的交流平台，增進了書院間的聯絡和感情。
	張笑侃 大三,  鄭裕彤書院 這是第一次和夥伴參加水上挑戰賽，真的緊張刺激又新鮮！每一個遊戲都十分有趣，各個書院隊伍之間的比拼其樂融融。不論是享受遊戲過程亦或是全力爭得頭籌，相信大家都獲得了完美體驗。
	潘詩霖 大一, 何鴻燊東亞書院 這是我在澳大參加的第一個團體活動，我覺得在水上進行挑戰賽十分有意思。雖然在水上比在陸地上更具挑戰性，但也擋不住同學們的熱情，看到參賽者們團結友愛和不放棄的精神以及工作人員們同心協力地為這個比賽所作出的努力，令我覺得澳大這個大家庭更有實感，我也很開心能為這次的水上挑戰賽出一份力。

2023 UM Swimming Pool Challenge Fun (UM INT Students)” was successfully held

 

The “2023 UM Swimming Pool Challenge Fun (International Students)”, organized by Office of Sports Affairs (OSA) was held successfully on 27 Sep 2023 at UM Sports Complex (N8).

The event attracted a total of 35 postgraduate students and international students forming 7 teams to compete, including an invited team  formed by staff from different RCs, they had a great time with the students.

The 7 participating teams had to complete 4 challenging game levels during the event, testing their excellent teamwork and individual physical fitness. Through this activity, it provided a platform for participants to get to know each other, promote cultural exchange, and foster multicultural integration among international students through game interactions.

All the participants had a pleasant afternoon together and expressed their appreciation for this opportunity to interact. They hope to build deeper friendships with each other.

	ARTHUR DE DIEGO Year 1, FBA The Swimming Pool Challenge for International Students was a very good opportunity to have fun and integrate with other international students, while at the same time, also exercising yourself with some fun and dynamic games on the UM Swimming Pool, also good opportunity to practice and develop teamwork.
	KHOO WEI HENG Postgraduate student, FBA It was a fun event! I didn’t expect to be playing like a kid at the UM swimming pool; even a professor was playing with us! It’s a good chance to leave the library and assignments, and take a good moment to be playful and naughty. Massive thanks to the OSA and sports volunteers for making this short evening both energetic and relaxed for a tired student like me!
	李心怡 研二,  精準醫學 這次的水上挑戰賽，特別驚訝的是，有許多來自不同國家的選手也參與其中。使整個比賽更加多元化和國際化。這不僅是比拼實力的機會，更是一次跨文化交流的體驗。我們用運動的方式傳遞友誼和團結的精神。對我來說這是一次非常難忘的經驗。下次如果還有這樣的比賽，我還會積極參與。

The activity is conducted in the form of recreational sports competition, all participating teams will compete against each other through a series of games on the day of the event. The top 3 teams with the highest cumulative scores will be awarded the first, second, and third places, respectively.

Target Participants : RC Students (Undergraduate / Postgraduate), Staff, Resident Fellows, Masters and Associate Masters

Maximum Quota: 10 teams (Each RC is limited to register only one team to participate.)

Team Size: Maximum of 5 participants, including at least 2 male and 2 female participants.

PE Hour: 2 PE hours will be granted for students who attend the whole activity

UMSU Korfball Club

UM Cheerleading Team is now recruiting new members

The UM Cheerleading Team is a energetic and passionate cheerleading team established in August 2021. The team is managed by the Office of Sports Affairs (OSA) and enjoys the same rights and responsibilities as other university teams. Main objective of the team is to enrich the diverse campus culture and promote the cheerleading culture. In recent years, the cheerleading team has attracted students from different residential colleges who have a passion for cheerleading, resulting in significant improvements in the team’s standards and performance. The team has also made different innovative attempts in their routines and has showcased their performances at events such as the sports performance night “Sports Spring Gala”, “Health University Week” and “2022 UM Sports Fest – Closing Ceremony”. Their Performances have received favorable responses and have started to gain attention from both within and outside the university, attracting coverage from local media. 

By joining the UM Cheerleading Team, you will be able to:

• Receive training twice a week, guided by professional coaches.
