國際微電子權威於澳大分享研究歷程

澳門大學舉辦榮譽博士講座,由國際電機及電子工程師學會(IEEE)董事會成員、現任IEEE第一技術領域主席(2022-2023)、澳大榮譽博士佛朗哥‧馬洛貝爾蒂(Franco Maloberti)以“探索(微)電子學的精彩旅程”為題發表演說,分享從事微電子學研究的心路歷程。馬洛貝爾蒂亦與澳大管理及科研人員會面,探討前沿科研發展。

澳大副校長、微電子研究院院長馬許願致辭時分享了其攻讀博士生課程時與馬洛貝爾蒂認識的經過和相處點滴,並表示馬洛貝爾蒂經常與澳大模擬與混合信號超大規模集成電路國家重點實驗室的學生維持緊密互動和溝通。馬許願高度讚揚馬洛貝爾蒂實事求是、平易近人的優良作風,期望未來與他在研究領域及期刊發表上進一步合作。此外,馬許願表示,馬洛貝爾蒂的探索之旅歷時超過半個世紀,成就斐然,將其比喻為一位出色的馬拉松跑手最為貼切不過。

講座上,馬洛貝爾蒂回顧了自己56年來從事(微)電子學研究的漫長歷程,包括求學經歷、初次接觸微電子學、首次來華參加學術會議、產業合作、各時期的代表性發明等,並將過程比喻為在森林中慢慢探索,而非在高速公路上行駛。他強調,好奇心是創意和創新的基礎,同時勉勵研究人員應敢於嘗試,再接再厲,重視中長期的研究目標。此外,他指出,電腦工具雖有效提升資訊管理的成效及執行效率,但保持自主思考仍非常重要。最後,他寄語與會者盡情享受多姿多彩的人生旅程。

此外,馬洛貝爾蒂亦參觀了澳大微電子科研設施,以及出席了澳大模擬與混合信號超大規模集成電路國家重點實驗室第五屆學術委員會會議、微電子研究院2023微電子傑出講座系列等,與澳大領導及科研人員交流會談,了解澳大的最新發展。馬洛貝爾蒂高度讚揚澳大學生勇於創新、積極進取的態度。

馬洛貝爾蒂著有論文超過620篇,書籍10部,獲得專利41項。為表彰其多年來對澳大微電子學發展作出的重大貢獻,澳大於2009年向馬洛貝爾蒂頒授榮譽教授榮銜。其後,馬洛貝爾蒂繼續與澳大合作,於2010年與澳大共同撰寫一篇關於模數轉換器的論文,被引用次數超過600次,成為澳大模擬與混合信號超大規模集成電路國家重點實驗室被引用次數最多的論文。

Leading expert in microelectronics gives talk at UM on research experience

The University of Macau (UM) held a Doctor honoris causa Lecture titled ‘A Long Journey with the Fascinating (Micro)electronics’, with Franco Maloberti, member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Division I Director (2022-2023) of IEEE, and honorary doctor of UM, as the speaker. During the talk, Prof Maloberti shared his experience in microelectronics research. He also met with UM’s management and researchers to discuss the development of cutting-edge research.

In his speech, Rui Martins, vice rector of UM and director of the Institute of Microelectronics (IME), shared his first encounter and interactions with Prof Maloberti during his PhD studies, and said that Prof Maloberti always maintains close interaction and communication with students in the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI (SKL-AMSV). He also spoke highly of Prof Maloberti’s pragmatic and approachable demeanor, and looks forward to further collaborations with him in research and journal publications. Moreover, Martins highlighted that Prof Maloberti’s research career, which has spanned more than half a century with extraordinary achievements, is best described as the journey of an accomplished marathon runner.

During the talk, Prof Maloberti reviewed his 56-year research career in (micro) electronics, including his post-graduate experience, his first encounter with microelectronics, his first visit to China to attend a conference, his collaborations with the industry, and his representative inventions at different times. He also described his journey as a process of exploring slowly in a forest rather than driving on a highway. He stressed that curiosity is the foundation of creativity and innovation, and encouraged researchers to be passionate and resilient in their research endeavours, and focus on medium- and long-term goals. Meanwhile, he pointed out that while computer tools can improve the effectiveness and efficiency of information management, it is still crucial to maintain independent thinking. Finally, he encouraged the audience to enjoy the wonderful adventure of life to the fullest.

In addition, Prof Maloberti visited microelectronics-related research facilities at UM, attended the Fifth Academic Committee Meeting of SKL-AMSV, and IME’s Distinguished Lecture Series of Microelectronics. He exchanged views with UM’s management and researchers and learned about the latest developments of the university. He highly praised UM students for their innovative and proactive attitude.

Prof Maloberti is the author of more than 620 papers and 10 books, as well as the holder of 41 patents. In recognition of his significant contributions to the development of microelectronics at UM, the university conferred on him an honorary professorship in 2009. Prof Maloberti maintains a close partnership with UM. In 2010, he co-authored a paper on analogue-to-digital converters. The paper has been cited more than 600 times, making it the most cited paper in SKL-AMSV.

澳大英辯隊在東北亞辯論賽奪佳績

澳門大學英語辯論隊參加東北亞辯論錦標賽,與首爾大學、東京大學、北京大學、中國人民大學、香港大學、香港中文大學等高等學府的優秀辯手和隊伍展開激烈競爭,以中國高校在此國際辯論賽事的最佳成績成功晉級公開組總決賽。

作為中國、日本、韓國等東北亞國家的年度重要國際辯論賽事,東北亞辯論錦標賽聚集了約200名優秀辯手合共80餘支隊伍。通過6輪初賽,僅有24支隊伍出線並取得公開組淘汰賽資格。澳大英語辯論隊共派出三隊伍參賽,分別是由社會科學學院四年級、滿珍紀念書院的唐卓文和社會科學學院二年級、霍英東珍禧書院的張楷組成的UM A隊;由人文學院二年級、馬萬祺羅柏心書院的李宛軒和工商管理學院二年級、鄭裕彤書院的崔嘉惠組成的UM B隊;由工商管理學院三年級、鄭裕彤書院的朱帥榕和社會科學學院三年級、滿珍紀念書院的孫林豐組成的UM C隊。

其中UM A隊的唐卓文和張楷在初賽中擊敗北京大學、香港大學、中國人民大學及中山大學,以12分(滿分18分)第九名的名次晉級。十六強賽中再淘汰日本筑波大學以及香港中文大學晉級。在半決賽中力克北京外國語大學以及韓國首爾大學成功打入總決賽,獲得中國高校在此國際辯論賽事的最佳成績,唐卓文則取得公開組第六最佳辯手的榮譽。

是次澳大英辯隊取得卓越成績,再次反映澳大在國際英語辯論領域的領先地位。未來,澳大英辯隊將努力突破,勇闖國際頂尖賽事賽場,為澳門及澳大取得更多榮譽。

UM English Debating Team achieves great results in Northeast Asian Debating Championship

The English Debating Team of the University of Macau (UM) participated in the Northeast Asian Debating Championship (NEADC). The event also attracted the participation of more than 80 teams formed by nearly 200 debaters from different higher education institutions. The UM English Debating Team entered the competition with three teams: UM A team formed by Tang Cheok Man and Zhang Kai; UM B team formed by Lei Un Hin and Kae Wai, Chui Togashi; and UM C team formed by Zhu Shuairong and Michael Sun. Among them, Tang and Zhang of UM A team defeated Peking University, the University of Hong Kong, Renmin University of China, and Sun Yat-Sen University in the preliminary rounds. They then eliminated the University of Tsukuba and the Chinese University of Hong Kong in the round of 16, and triumphed over Beijing Foreign Studies University and Seoul National University in the semi-finals. Their outstanding performance led them to the grand final, marking the best results ever achieved by a university from China in this international debating tournament. Tang was also awarded the Sixth Best Speaker in the open division.

“深圳之窗”落地澳大

澳門大學舉行“深圳之窗”落地澳大暨“深圳作家獲獎作品展”揭幕儀式,並以圖文形式和實體文獻展示深圳文學風貌,藉此讓澳門市民進一步了解深圳,促進兩地交流合作。

首個“深圳之窗”專區由澳大圖書館與深圳圖書館合作建成,陳列200多份精心挑選的深圳地方特色文獻;同場亦設有“深圳作家獲獎作品展”。深圳圖書館黨委書記、館長張岩,澳大圖書館館長吳建中等主持揭幕,並進行“深圳之窗”牌匾和深圳地方特色文獻致送儀式。

吳建中致辭表示,深圳是全國改革開放的前沿陣地,深圳圖書館在事業創新和全民閱讀方面在全國圖書館界處於領先地位,“深圳之窗”作爲澳大圖書館中華文化坊的重要組成部分,將有助澳門廣大讀者對深圳經濟與文化高質量發展的深入了解,推動雙方圖書館之間的交流與合作。

張岩表示,深圳與澳門同處嶺南地區,地緣相近、人緣相親、文緣相通,兩地文化交流由來已久,圖書館界合作更是緊密,如連續多年舉辦“粵港澳4‧23共讀半小時”活動,以及舉辦“從文獻看澳門”系列展覽等。

深圳市一直重視深圳與澳門之間的文化交流,此前深圳市委常委、宣傳部部長張玲調研澳大圖書館時,亦高度重視“深圳之窗”專區建設,詳細了解專區籌建等相關情况。是次出席嘉賓還有深圳圖書館副館長肖容梅,澳大圖書館副館長王國強、助理館長梁德海等。

Exhibition area ‘Window of Shenzhen’ inaugurated in UM

The University of Macau (UM) inaugurated the ‘Window of Shenzhen’ exhibition area and the ‘Exhibition of Award-Winning Works of Shenzhen Writers’ at the UM library. ‘Window of Shenzhen’ is a collaborative initiative between the UM library and Shenzhen Library. The exhibition area showcases more than 200 carefully selected pieces of literature with distinctive Shenzhen characteristics. The area also includes an exhibition featuring award-winning works by Shenzhen writers. During his speech at the opening ceremony for ‘Window of Shenzhen’ and the award-winning works exhibition, Wu Jianzhong, university librarian of UM, expressed that ‘Window of Shenzhen’ will deepen Macao readers’ understanding of Shenzhen’s high-quality development in economy and culture, while fostering exchanges and cooperation between the UM library and Shenzhen Library. Zhang Yan, party committee secretary and director of Shenzhen Library, emphasised the shared similarities between Macao and Shenzhen, and said that the event is another example of the strong cooperation between libraries in the two cities. Through a combination of visual and textual displays, the event aims to enhance Macao residents’ understanding of the literary landscape and the city of Shenzhen, thereby promoting the exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.

澳大向五位傑出人士頒授榮譽博士學位

澳門大學今(2)日舉行2023年榮譽學位及高等學位頒授典禮,向五位傑出人士:蔡昉、梁錦榮、汪正平、佛朗哥‧馬洛貝爾蒂(Franco Maloberti)及王士元頒授澳大榮譽博士學位,以表彰其卓越成就及為社會所作出的重大貢獻。

頒授典禮上,行政長官兼澳大校監代表、社會文化司司長歐陽瑜在澳大校董會主席林金城、澳大校長宋永華陪同下頒授榮譽博士學位。蔡昉獲頒榮譽社會科學博士學位,梁錦榮、汪正平和佛朗哥‧馬洛貝爾蒂獲頒榮譽理學博士學位,王士元則獲頒榮譽人文學博士學位。

歐陽瑜致辭時代表特區政府向獲頒授榮譽學位的五位傑出人士所取得的非凡成就,致以崇高的敬意。

宋永華致辭時表示,五位榮譽博士憑藉非凡的學術成就,為世界經濟、科技和文化的發展作出了非凡的貢獻,為澳大師生樹立了傑出的榜樣,榜樣的力量是無窮的。大家應該向他們學習,用自己的知識和努力,服務社會、回饋社會。

澳大社會科學學院院長胡偉星宣讀蔡昉讚辭時表示,蔡昉教授是著名的人口學家和經濟學家,為理解中國人口和勞動經濟學及其對國家經濟發展的影響方面作出重大貢獻。蔡教授因其突出成就獲得諸多獎項和榮譽。他曾獲國家級“有突出貢獻的中青年專家”稱號,以及國務院七部委頒發的出國留學人員傑出成就獎。他被評為“影響新中國60年來經濟建設的100位經濟學家”之一。

澳大中華醫藥研究院院長陳新宣讀梁錦榮讚辭時表示,梁錦榮教授是一位傑出的科學家,在生物材料科學和工程領域貢獻良多,尤其在用於藥物傳遞和再生醫學的創新生物材料開發方面更是碩果累累。他是引領生物材料領域前進的領軍人物,其開拓性研究增進了人類福祉。作為生物材料領域的頂尖學者之一,梁教授爲該學科做出了重要貢獻,廣受讚譽,屢獲殊榮。

澳大科技學院院長須成忠宣讀汪正平讚辭時表示,汪正平教授是科學和工程領域的先驅,他的重大創新從根本上改變了半導體封裝技術。他成就非凡,贏得“現代半導體封裝之父”的讚譽。正是他的創新解決方案,使得當今企業能以更低成本生產出性能更佳的各種與我們日常生活息息相關的電子設備。因其取得的傑出成就,汪教授當之無愧地獲得無數獎項和榮譽。

澳大副校長馬許願宣讀佛朗哥‧馬洛貝爾蒂讚辭時表示,馬洛貝爾蒂教授是是微電子領域的傑出學者和廣受讚譽的專家,而微電子是現代社會發展的驅動力。他在這一領域成就斐然,尤其是在數據轉換器的集成電路設計方面有卓越建樹。他是全球數據轉換和信號處理領域的領軍人物之一,輝煌的職業生涯長達半個多世紀,學術影響力遍及全世界。

澳大人文學院院長徐杰宣讀王士元讚辭時表示,王士元教授是世界著名語言學家,他在語言理論、語言工程、演化語言學等領域做出許多世界一流的傑出貢獻。他的研究工作長期引領著語言學多個領域的發展方向,為中國語言學和世界語言學做出了具有里程碑意義的學術貢獻,在國際學術界享有崇高的聲譽。

最後,蔡昉作為榮譽博士代表宣讀謝辭。他表示,獲得聲譽卓著的澳大頒授榮譽社會科學博士學位是一項巨大的榮譽,並有幸與四位傑出人物一起享此殊榮,以及作為代表向澳大致以真摯的感謝和崇高的敬意。他衷心祝願祖國繁榮昌盛、澳門可持續發展,以及澳大不斷取得新的成就和聲譽。

UM confers honorary doctorates on five distinguished individuals

The University of Macau (UM) today (2 December) held the Ceremony for the Conferment of Honorary and Higher Degrees 2023. During the ceremony, the university conferred honorary doctorates on five distinguished individuals: Prof Cai Fang, Prof Leong Kam Weng, Prof Ching-Ping Wong, Prof Franco Maloberti, and Prof William Shiyuan Wang, in recognition of their outstanding achievements and significant contributions to society.

During the ceremony, Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Ao Ieong U, acting as the representative of the chief executive of the Macao SAR and UM chancellor, conferred honorary doctorates on the distinguished individuals, in the company of UM University Council Chair Lam Kam Seng Peter and UM Rector Yonghua Song. Prof Cai Fang received a Doctor of Social Sciences honoris causa, Prof Leong Kam Weng received a Doctor of Science honoris causa, Prof Ching-Ping Wong received a Doctor of Science honoris causa, Prof Franco Maloberti received a Doctor of Science honoris causa, and Prof William Shiyuan Wang received a Doctor of Humanities honoris causa.

In her speech, Secretary Ao Ieong, on behalf of the Macao SAR Government, paid high tribute to the outstanding achievements of the five distinguished recipients of the honorary degrees.

In his speech, Rector Song said that with their extraordinary academic achievements, the five honorary doctors have made outstanding contributions to the development of the world’s economy, science, and culture, serving as role models for UM faculty and students. He added that a fine example has boundless power, and encouraged the graduates to seek to emulate them, serve, and give back to the community through their knowledge and hard work.

Hu Weixing, dean of UM’s Faculty of Social Sciences, delivered a citation for Prof Cai Fang. Part of the citation read: ‘Prof Cai Fang is a prominent demographer and economist who has contributed significantly to the understanding of China’s population and labour economics and their impact on the country’s economic development. He has received numerous awards and honours in recognition of his achievements. Some of the awards that Prof Cai has received include the title of Young and Middle-Aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions at the national level, and the Outstanding Achievement Award for Personnel Who Studied Abroad presented by the Seven Ministries of the State Council of China. He was also named one of the “100 Economists Who Influenced the Economic Development of China in the Past 60 Years”.’

Chen Xin, director of UM’s Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences, delivered a citation for Prof Leong Kam Weng. Part of the citation read: ‘Prof Leong Kam Weng is an eminent scientist who has made significant contributions to biomaterials science and engineering, particularly in the development of innovative biomaterials for drug delivery and regenerative medicine. His trailblazing research has made him a leading figure in the advancement of the biomaterials field for the benefit of humankind. As one of the leading scholars in the field of biomaterials, Prof Leong has received wide acclaim for his important contributions to the discipline.’

Xu Cheng-Zhong, dean of UM’s Faculty of Science and Technology, delivered a citation for Prof Ching-Ping Wong. Part of the citation read: ‘Prof Ching-Ping Wong, a pioneer in science and engineering, has revolutionised the semiconductor packaging technology with his remarkable innovations. He is known as the Father of Modern Semiconductor Packaging for his groundbreaking achievements. Thanks to Prof Wong’s ingenious solutions, companies nowadays are able to manufacture a wide variety of electronic devices that are essential to our daily lives with enhanced performance and reduced costs. A distinguished individual like Prof Wong has received many awards and honours in recognition of his outstanding contributions.’

Rui Martins, vice rector of UM, delivered a citation for Prof Franco Maloberti. Part of the citation read: ‘Prof Franco Maloberti is a distinguished scholar and an acclaimed expert in the field of microelectronics—the driving force of our modern world. His achievements are outstanding, particularly in integrated circuit design for data converters. Prof Maloberti is among the leading figures in the world in the field of data conversion and signal processing. With a brilliant career spanning over half a century, his academic influence has spread throughout the world.’

Xu Jie, dean of UM’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities, delivered a citation for Prof William Shiyuan Wang. Part of the citation read: ‘Prof William Shiyuan Wang is a world-renowned linguist who has made world-class contributions to the fields of linguistic theory, language engineering, evolutionary linguistics, among others. His research has long pioneered the development of linguistics in many areas, making landmark contributions to Chinese and world linguistics. He enjoys an extraordinary reputation in the international academic community.’

Prof Cai Fang delivered a speech to express gratitude to UM for the honorary degrees on behalf of all the recipients. He said, ‘It is a great honour to receive a Doctor of Social Sciences honoris causa conferred by the prestigious UM. I feel honoured to receive this along with the other four distinguished individuals, and I extend sincere gratitude and the utmost respect to UM on behalf of my fellow recipients of honorary doctorate degrees. I wholeheartedly wish our motherland great prosperity and Macao sustainable development. I also hope that UM will continue to make more achievements and gain an even stronger reputation.’

澳大活動推廣衛星科技知識應用

為了更好地普及衛星系統的科技知識及應用,澳門大學科學暨工程科普推廣中心舉辦了四場科普工作坊,為12月舉行的“中銀科創菁英挑戰賽” 作賽前準備,吸引了13間中學的師生參與。

在四場以北斗衛星導航系統技術為核心主題的科普工作坊上,澳大科學暨工程科普推廣中心教研人員介紹了衛星系統由空間段、地面段和使用者段三部分的相關技術,配合實驗套件讓學生親身體驗衛星系統的卓越性能及其廣泛應用性,並探索其在澳門各行業的實際應用。

“中銀科創菁英挑戰賽"由澳大澳門中小學生科技實踐基地——“全國科普教育基地"和校友及發展辦公室主辦,獲澳門科學館支持及澳門中銀贊助。今年主題圍繞北斗衛星導航系統,讓學生從中了解國家的科研發展,掌握北斗系統所使用的科學與技術原理,並於日常生活應用相關知識,同時啟發他們為社區及中小微企的科技創新提供發明項目。

UM holds activities to promote applications of satellite technology

The Centre for Science and Engineering Promotion of the University of Macau (UM) held four science outreach workshops, with the aim of promoting knowledge and applications of satellite technology. The workshops, which also served to prepare students for the BOC STEM Talent Challenge to be held in December, attracted the participation of teachers and students from 13 local secondary schools.

The four science outreach workshops all revolved around the technologies of the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System. During the workshops, faculty and researchers from UM’s Centre for Science and Engineering Promotion introduced to the students the technologies employed in the satellite system, which consists of a space segment, a ground segment, and a user segment. The students also gained hands-on experience with the excellent performance and wide range of applications of the satellite system through the experimental kit, and explored its applications in various industries in Macao.

The BOC STEM Talent Challenge is jointly organised by the Macao Base for Primary & Secondary STEM Education, a national science education base, and the Alumni and Development Office of UM, with support from the Macao Science Center and sponsorship from Bank of China (Macau). The theme of this year’s competition is the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, which aims to enable students to learn about the country’s research development, understand the scientific and technological principles used in the Beidou System, and apply the relevant knowledge in their daily lives. In addition, it serves to inspire students to develop inventions for technological innovation in the community as well as micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises.

The BOC STEM Talent Challenge will open for entries from 1 December to 28 December this year. The competition is open to Form 2 to Form 6 students studying in Macao’s secondary schools in the 2023/2024 academic year. For the student category, there will be one first prize (MOP 8,000), one second prize (MOP 5,000), and eight third prizes (MOP 3,000). This year, there will be a new award category for supervising teachers, with one first prize (MOP 3,000), one second prize (MOP 2,000), and eight third prizes (MOP 1,000). 澳門大學將於12月4日(星期一)舉辦“大學講壇”,中國工程院院士兼同濟大學榮譽講席教授朱合華將以“從土木工程到土木資訊工程——土木工程的第四次飛躍”為題發表演說,探討第四次工業革命下,土木工程走向土木資訊工程的第四次飛躍機會和實現途徑。歡迎有興趣人士參加。

朱合華是世界頂尖的數字隧道及地下空間專家。他創建了基礎設施全壽命資料獲取—傳輸—處理—表達—分析—服務的數位化範式,研發出基礎設施智慧服務系統(iS3),並創辦了地下空間領域國際頂尖期刊Underground Space。

講座上,朱合華將解讀土木工程前三次飛躍帶來的啟示,探討土木工程數位化賦能的潛力,分析從土木工程走向土木資訊工程的飛躍路徑,以及土木資訊工程的建設任務,引領大眾進入即將到來的土木資訊工程世界。

Member of Chinese Academy of Engineering to give talk on digitalisation of civil engineering at UM

As part of the University Lecture Series, the University of Macau (UM) will hold a talk titled ‘From Civil Engineering to Civil-Informatics Engineering—The Opportunities for the Fourth Leap of Civil Engineering’ on Monday 4 December. Zhu Hehua, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Distinguished Professor at Tongji University, will be the speaker. During the talk, Prof Zhu will discuss the insights gained from the first three leaps in civil engineering, before delving into the potential of digital empowerment in civil engineering. He will also analyse the roadmap for the transformation of civil engineering into civil-informatics engineering.

The lecture will start at 11:00am in the Lecture Hall of UM’s Faculty of Health Sciences (E12-G003) and will be conducted in Mandarin. 澳大學生獲國際體育科學會一等獎

澳門大學教育學院學生於“第二十屆華人運動生理與體適能學者學會年會暨學術大會”獲得五個獎項,包括兩項口頭報告一等獎、口頭報告二等獎、海報交流報告一等獎和二等獎,是今屆會議獲獎率最高的隊伍。報告為不同類型的體育研究提供科學支持,得到評審的高度好評。

是次會議收到來自美國、韓國、中國內地、香港、澳門和台灣地區的研究生及學者所提交的81篇口頭報告和117篇海報交流報告。口頭報告獎項包括十項一等獎(12.3%獲獎率)和十項二等獎(12.3%獲獎率);海報交流報告獎項包括七項一等獎(6.0%獲獎率)和九項二等獎(7.7%獲獎率)。澳大教育學院代表團表現出色,六名參加者獲得五項獎項,獲獎率高達83%,成爲今屆會議獲獎率最高的研究團隊。

澳大教育博士畢業生胡明珠研究的“低氧訓練結合低碳飲食對生理心理健康的影響”獲得兩項口頭報告一等獎;體育教學及運動碩士畢業生李思琦的“低碳飲食下短期高強度間歇訓練和中等強度持續訓練的運動喜愛反應”獲得口頭報告二等獎;教育博士生李杰的“核心穩定性訓練方案的參數設計”獲得海報交流報告一等獎,同為教育博士生的于謙以“外源性酮體補充的時間及劑量效應”獲得海報交流報告二等獎。以上四項研究成果為指導體育訓練、營養補充和公共健康提供科學支持,亦為運動科學、生物力學、營養學、心理學間的交叉研究提供新視角、新路徑。

獲獎學生的導師為澳大教育學院副教授孔兆偉,他是高強度間歇訓練領域世界頂尖前30名專家之一,也是模擬低氧訓練研究的知名學者。他領導的研究團隊一直致力於透過優化鍛鍊和飲食干預措施來提高久坐人群的健康水平。最近,其團隊成功申請了“酮體補充劑和生酮飲食對超重成人大腦可塑性的影響”研究課題的資助。

“華人運動生理與體適能學者學會年會暨學術大會”是大中華地區運動科學領域定期進行學術交流的唯一國際平台。學會所屬的英文學術期刊《運動科學與健身雜誌》是大中華地區首本享有盛譽的體育科學SCI期刊。

UM students win first prize at international conference on sports science

Students in the Faculty of Education (FED) of the University of Macau (UM) won five awards at the 20th Annual Meeting of the Society of Chinese Scholars on Exercise Physiology and Fitness. The awards included two first prizes and a second prize for oral presentation, as well as a first prize and a second prize for poster presentation, making UM the most awarded delegation at this year’s conference. Their reports provide scientific support for different types of sports research and received positive feedback from the judges.

The conference featured a total of 81 oral presentations and 117 poster presentations from postgraduate students and scholars from the US, South Korea, mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. There were 10 first prizes (12.3% acceptance rate) and 10 second prizes (12.3% acceptance rate) for oral presentation, and 7 first prizes (6.0% acceptance rate) and 9 second prizes (7.7% acceptance rate) for poster presentation. The FED delegation delivered exceptional performance, with 6 participants winning 5 awards, reaching a success rate of 83%. This made UM the best-performing delegation at this year’s conference.

Hu Mingzhu, who holds a PhD in education from UM, won two first prizes for the oral presentation of her project ‘Physiological and Psychological Effects of a Ketogenic Diet Combined with Exercise under Hypoxia in Overweight Individuals’. Li Siqi, a master’s graduate in physical education and sport studies, was awarded a second prize for the oral presentation of her project ‘Exercise Enjoyment in High-intensity Interval Training and Moderate-intensity Continuous Training with a Low-carb Diet in Sedentary Young Women’. Li Jie and Yu Qian, PhD students in education, received a first prize and a second prize respectively for the poster presentations of their projects. Li’s project was titled ‘Research on the Relationship between Core Stability and Vertical Jump’, and Yu’s project was titled ‘Dose Response and Time Effect of Exogenous Ketone Supplementation on Blood Parameters’. The research results of these four projects provide scientific support for sports training, nutritional supplementation, and public health, as well as new perspectives and inspirations for interdisciplinary research that involves sports science, biomechanics, nutrition, and psychology.

Kong Zhaowei, associate professor in FED, was the supervisor of the award-winning students. He is one of the world’s top 30 experts in the field of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) and is a renowned scholar in research on simulated hypoxic training. His research team is committed to improving the health of sedentary people by optimising physical exercise and dietary interventions. Recently, his team was awarded a grant for their research project ‘The Effects of Ketone Supplements and Ketogenic Diet on Brain Plasticity in Overweight Adults’.

The Society of Chinese Scholars on Exercise Physiology and Fitness (SCSEPF) is the only international platform for regular academic exchange in the field of sports science in the Greater China region. The English journal Journal of Exercise Science & Fitness of SCSEPF is a prestigious SCI-indexed journal in sports science in the Greater China Region.

澳大將向五位傑出人士頒授榮譽博士學位

澳門大學將於12月2日(星期六)舉行2023年榮譽學位及高等學位頒授典禮,向五位傑出人士:蔡昉、梁錦榮、汪正平、佛朗哥‧馬洛貝爾蒂 (Franco Maloberti) 及王士元頒授澳大榮譽博士學位;同場還將頒授博士及碩士學位。

屆時將頒授榮譽社會科學博士學位予蔡昉、榮譽理學博士學位予梁錦榮、榮譽理學博士學位予汪正平、榮譽理學博士學位予佛朗哥‧馬洛貝爾蒂及榮譽人文學博士學位予王士元,以表彰其卓越成就及為社會所作出的重大貢獻。

蔡昉現任中國社會科學院學部委員、中國社會科學院國家高端智庫首席專家、中國人民銀行貨幣政策委員會委員、中國經濟50人論壇學術委員會成員、中國金融四十人論壇學術委員會主席。蔡昉發表中英文論文200餘篇,出版中英文專著30餘部,著有《中國經濟:實踐探索與學理解說》、《中國勞動力市場轉型與發育》、《超越人口紅利》等,主編《中國人口與勞動問題報告》系列專著等。曾被評為“影響新中國60年經濟建設的100位經濟學家",獲第二屆張培剛發展經濟學優秀成果獎、第一屆中國軟科學獎、第四屆中國發展百人獎等獎項。

梁錦榮為美國國家工程院院士、美國國家發明家科學院院士和美國國家醫學院院士,現任美國哥倫比亞大學生物醫學工程系Samuel Y. Sheng 特聘教授和系統生物學系教授。梁錦榮在多本期刊發表論文450餘篇,被引用超過67,000次,H指數達133,是2018及2022年ESI高被引學者;已授權專利超過60項,並公開專利14項。他在AD科學指數(AD Scientific Index)公佈的2024年全球工程和技術/生物醫學工程科學家排名中名列第八位。自2014年起,他一直擔任該領域頂級期刊《生物材料》(Biomaterials) 的主編。梁錦榮於2019年獲邀為澳大中華醫藥研究院傑出訪問學者。

汪正平為國際著名電子工程學學者,被譽為“現代半導體封裝之父"及“高錕第二"。現任美國喬治亞理工學院(Georgia Institute of Technology)“董事教授"(Regents’ Professor)及材料科學及工程學系Charles Smithgall Institute講座教授,以及香港科技大學機械及航空航天工程學系客座教授及香港中文大學電子工程學系榮休教授。汪正平的研究領域包括聚合物電子材料、電子、光子及微機電器件封裝與互連材料、介面結合、納米功能材料的合成及特性等。他發表超過1,000篇專業論文,撰寫及編輯12本書籍,並持有超過65項美國專利。

佛朗哥‧馬洛貝爾蒂 (Franco Maloberti) 是國際電機及電子工程師學會(IEEE)董事會成員,現任IEEE 第一技術領域主席(2022-2023)。馬洛貝爾蒂著有論文620餘篇,書籍10部,獲得專利41項。為表彰其多年來對澳大微電子學發展作出的重大貢獻,澳大於2009年向馬洛貝爾蒂頒授榮譽教授榮銜。之後,馬洛貝爾蒂繼續與澳大合作,於2010年與大學共同撰寫一篇關於模數轉換器的論文,被引用次數超過600次,成為模擬與混合信號超大規模集成電路國家重點實驗室被引用次數最多的論文。

王士元是世界著名語言學家,台灣中央研究院院士。他創辦的《中國語言學報》(Journal of Chinese Linguistics)是語言學界最具影響力的學術期刊。王士元於1992當選為國際中國語言學會的創會會長,2017年榮獲上海人類學學會頒發的終身成就獎,2018年被芝加哥大學授予人文學榮譽博士學位,他還被北京大學、復旦大學、南開大學等學府頒授榮譽教授等崇高學術榮銜。王士元多年來關心澳門和澳門大學的學術事業,多次蒞澳發表學術觀點,介紹前沿研究,開展學術交流與合作。

此外,當日同場亦舉行高等學位頒授典禮。今年超過1,500名來自澳大人文學院、工商管理學院、教育學院、健康科學學院、法學院、科技學院、社會科學學院、應用物理及材料工程研究院、中華醫藥研究院、協同創新研究院、微電子研究院的應屆博士、碩士和學士後證書/文憑課程的畢業生將獲頒證書。

UM to confer honorary doctorates on five distinguished individuals

The University of Macau (UM) will hold the Ceremony for the Conferment of Honorary and Higher Degrees 2023 on 2 December (Saturday), where honorary doctorates will be conferred on five distinguished individuals: Cai Fang, Leong Kam Weng, Ching-Ping Wong, Franco Maloberti, and William Shiyuan Wang. Doctoral and master’s degrees will also be awarded on the occasion.

In recognition of their outstanding achievements and significant contributions to society, five distinguished individuals will be honored at the ceremony. Prof Cai Fang will receive a Doctor of Social Sciences honoris causa, Leong Kam Weng will receive a Doctor of Science honoris causa, Prof Ching-Ping Wong will receive a Doctor of Science honoris causa, Prof Franco Maloberti will receive a Doctor of Science honoris causa, and Prof William Shiyuan Wang will receive a Doctor of Humanities honoris causa.

Prof Cai Fang is a member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), a chief expert of the CASS China Top Think Tank, and a member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People’s Bank of China. He is also a member of the Academic Committee of the Chinese Economists 50 Forum, and the chairman of the Academic Committee of the China Finance 40 Forum. Prof Cai has published more than 200 research articles and over 30 monographs in Chinese and English. He is the author of China’s Economy: Practical Exploration and Academic Understanding, The Development and Transformation of China’s Labour Market, and Beyond Demographic Dividends, as well as the editor of the Reports on China’s Population and Labor series. Recognised as one of the ‘100 economists who influenced the economic development of China in the past 60 years’, Prof Cai was the winner of the Second Zhang Peigang Development Economics Outstanding Research Achievement Award, the First China Soft Science Award, and the Fourth China Development 100 Person’s Award.

Prof Leong Kam Weng is a member of the US National Academy of Engineering, a fellow of the US National Academy of Inventors, and a member of the US National Academy of Medicine. He is currently the Samuel Y. Sheng Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and with a joint appointment in the Department of Systems Biology at Columbia University in the US. Prof Leong has published more than 450 papers and has been cited over 67,000 times, with an H-index of 133. In 2018 and 2022, he was listed as an ESI Highly Cited Researcher. He holds more than 60 granted patents and 14 published patents. Prof Leong is ranked No 8 in the World Scientists Engineering & Technology / Biomedical Engineering Rankings 2024 by AD Scientific Index. Since 2014, he has been the editor-in-chief of Biomaterials, a top journal in the field of biomaterials. Prof Leong was also a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at the Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences of UM in 2019.

Prof Ching-Ping Wong is a world-renowned scholar in electronic engineering and is known as the Father of Modern Semiconductor Packaging, second only to Nobel laureate Sir Charles Kuen Kao. He is currently Regents’ Professor and the Charles Smithgall Institute Endowed Chair in the School of Materials Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology in the US. In addition, he is as an adjunct professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and has been granted the title of Emeritus Professor by the Department of Electronic Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Prof Wong’s research interests include polymeric electronic materials, electronic, photonic, and micro-electromechanical system packaging, interconnect and interfacial adhesions, as well as nano-functional material syntheses and characterisations. He has published over 1,000 technical papers, authored and edited 12 books, and holds more than 65 US patents.

Prof Franco Maloberti is a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and is currently the IEEE Division I Director (2022-2023). He is the author of more than 620 papers and 10 books, as well as the holder of 41 patents. In recognition of his significant contributions to the development of microelectronics at UM, the university conferred on him an honorary professorship in 2009. Prof Maloberti maintains a close partnership with UM. In 2010, he co-authored a paper on analogue-to-digital converters (ADC). The paper has been cited more than 600 times, making it the most cited paper in the State Key Laboratory of Analog and Mixed-Signal VLSI.

Prof William Shiyuan Wang is a world-renowned linguist and an academician of the Academia Sinica in Taiwan. He founded Journal of Chinese Linguistics, the most influential academic journal in the field of linguistics. Prof Wang was elected founding president of the International Association of Chinese Linguistics in 1992, and was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Shanghai Society of Anthropology in 2017. He was conferred the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Humane Letters by the University of Chicago in 2018. He has also received honorary professorships from esteemed universities such as Peking University, Fudan University, and Nankai University. Over the years, Prof Wang has taken an interest in Macao and the academic development of UM. He has made multiple visits to Macao to share his academic insights, introduce cutting-edge research, and carry out academic exchanges and collaborations.

In addition, the ceremony for the conferment of higher degrees will also be held. This year, certificates will be presented to more than 1,500 graduates from the doctoral, master’s, and postgraduate certificate/diploma programmes across UM’s Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Business Administration, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering, Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences, Institute of Collaborative Innovation, and Institute of Microelectronics.

澳大工料測量課程助建築業與國際接軌

為配合澳門建築工程業界的自我提升並與國際接軌,澳門大學持續進修中心開辦了第三期“建設商務管理(工料測量)高級專業文憑課程"並舉行結業禮。今期共有30名學員取得文憑,並獲英國皇家特許土木工程測量師學會專業認證。

畢業禮上,澳大持續進修中心主任劉丁己致辭時表示,目前三期的課程共有73人結業,第四期有28人正在修讀,課程持續為澳門業界培訓具有工料測量專業知識的人員,並協助他們取得國際認證。為配合社會發展的需要,持續進修中心將繼續提供優質及多元化的專業培訓課程。

澳門立法會議員及澳門工程師學會會長胡祖杰表示,學員從課程中獲得廣泛的專業知識,並運用在實際工作當中,期望他們共同努力提高澳門建築行業的專業性。英國皇家特許土木工程測量師學會會長及大中華區首席代表姜鎮昌表示,通過加強與澳大在工料測量領域的持續合作,相信能滿足澳門建築行業的高要求,對澳門建築業的發展作出貢獻。

劉丁己、姜鎮昌及英國皇家特許土木工程測量師學會監事陳玉嬋為學員頒授證書。學員代表周子良表示,通過是次課程對工料測量及建設商務管理有更深入了解,有助提升澳門從事建築行業的相關專業技能及知識,日後在國內外就業或創業都能受益。

建設商務管理(工料測量)高級專業文憑課程由澳大持續進修中心和英國特許土木工程測量師學會合辦,共 210學時,學員主要為相關行業的專業人士,導師均來自該學會。澳大持續進修中心將繼續與各行業的國際專業學會合作,開辦不同類型的文憑課程。

UM offers diploma course in quantity surveying to bridge local construction industry to international standards

The Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) of the University of Macau (UM) held a closing ceremony for the third intake of the Advanced Professional Diploma in Construction Commercial Management (Quantity Surveying). A total of 30 participants completed the programme and received a diploma, which is also recognised by the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES). During the event, Matthew Liu Ting Chi, director of UM’s CCE; Andrew Keung, chairman of CICES (Hong Kong Region) and CICES president’s representative (The Greater China); and Katherine Chan, supervisor of CICES (Macao Region), presented certificates to the participants. Wu Chou Kit, member of Macao’s Legislative Assembly and chairman of the Macau Institute of Engineers, also attended the ceremony. The diploma course is jointly offered by CCE of UM and CICES and consists of 210 study hours. The participants are mainly professionals from the sectors concerned and the instructors are from CICES.

澳大團隊奪大學生創業賽亞軍

澳門大學團隊參加“香洲區第十屆大學生創業大賽”,以“麥芽渣硬碳負極電芯材料”項目在清華大學、中山大學、香港城市大學等高校的項目中脫穎而出獲得亞軍,將可免租入駐香洲區的創業基地。

獲獎項目由澳大鄭裕彤書院創業團隊張雲哲、陳穎及劉泳兒組成,應用物理與材料研究院副教授許冠南、鄭裕彤書院院長黃承發及導師鄧宇明博士提供指導。張雲哲表示,團隊聚焦當前熱門的電池產業,探索使用麥芽渣作為原材料,生產硬碳作為電池負極技術及商業化的可行性。團隊將繼續專注於硬碳負極材料的研發,為生產鈉離子電池、鋰離子電池等的企業提供高性價比的綠色電極材料,從而提高能量密度及迴圈壽命、降低成本,以推動可再生能源在大灣區和澳門的廣泛應用,助力當地實現綠色能源目標,為社會創造更清潔、可持續的未來。

澳大鄭裕彤書院創業團隊在今年5月成立,並在鄭裕彤書院與香港理工大學應用物理科學系合辦的創業營“我的初創時代”中組建,期間共開展了五個具發展潛力的創業項目,得獎的“麥芽渣硬碳負極電芯材料”便是其中之一。是次獲獎可獲得獎金兩萬元人民幣、三年免租入駐香洲區大學生創業孵化基地,以及全流程創業孵化服務、宣傳推廣、投融資對接等企業服務。

UM team wins second place in entrepreneurship competition for university students

An entrepreneurial team from Cheng Yu Tung College at the University of Macau (UM) won second place in the 10th Xiangzhou District University Student Entrepreneurship Competition with their project ‘Malt Residue as Hard Carbon Anode Material’. According to the UM team, their idea was inspired by the thriving battery industry, leading them to explore the utilisation of malt residue as a raw material to produce hard carbon used in battery anodes, along with the potential of commercialising the technology. The team will continue to focus on the research and development of hard carbon anode materials, aiming to provide cost-effective and environmentally friendly electrode materials for enterprises that produce sodium-ion batteries and lithium-ion batteries. The development of such materials can promote the widespread adoption of renewable energy in the Greater Bay Area and Macao, thus contributing to creating a cleaner and more sustainable future.
