Psychological Counselling Service – Referral

When a student is going through stress, unstable emotion or unusual behaviors may be observed. It’s always a signal for help!

Welcome to refer them to us for psychological counselling. We are also happy to discuss with you whether a referral is necessary and how to present the referral to the students. 

An indication that a referral may be needed:

  • Need for better self-understanding, to enhance interpersonal relationships, to explore and develop potentials, and to improve emotional wellness;
  • Sudden changes in school performance, e.g. a serious drop in grades and class attendance;
  • Marked changes in body weight, personal grooming, and hygiene;
  • Unusual or exaggerated emotional response which is inappropriate to the situation;
  • Feeling difficulty in adjusting to university life and powerless in coping with problems;
  • Feeling sad, anxious, stressed, or troubled for a long period;
  • Highly disruptive behaviour (hostile, aggressive, or violent);
  • Inability to communicate clearly (garbled, slurred speech; unconnected or disjointed thoughts);
  • Loss of contact with reality (seeing/hearing things which “aren’t there”; beliefs that are greatly at odds with reality or probability);
  • Threats of self-harm or harm to others (Call 999 immediately in case of emergency).

 

Special remarks for making referrals:

  • It is usually helpful that you discuss the possibility of using a psychological counselling service with the student before making a referral. An anonymous referral often makes it difficult for our psychological counsellor to develop trust with the student. Most students appreciate candid caring and support from people around them in their times of difficulty.
  • Except in dangerous situations, e.g. threats of self-harm or harm to others, the decision to accept or reject the referral is ultimately the student’s.
  • A referral may be made for consultation purposes, where our psychological counsellor meets with the student, makes an assessment, and offers recommendations to the staff member who made the referral.
  • A referral may be made for counselling purposes, where our psychological counsellor meets with the student, makes an assessment, develops a treatment plan, and begins the counselling process.
  • Under the obligation of confidentiality, all student information is kept strictly confidential. Our psychological counsellor is unable to disclose any information about the student to anyone, including the staff member who made the referral, without written consent from the student. If the referrer wants to know about the counselling progress of the student, please contact the student directly.
  • If you need immediate support during non-office hours, please contact the University Security Centre (Tel: 8822 4000). The student in need may also use the 24-hour Macau Caritas Life Hope Hotline (Tel: 2852 5222 / 2852 5777) or the Emergency Room (Tel:999) in case of emergency.

學生在面對生活及學習上的壓力時,常會出現波動的情緒或有反常的行為表現,這可能是一個求助警號 !
歡迎你將有需要的同學轉介給心理輔導員,我們亦非常樂意與你探討個別同學的轉介需要,以及如何向該同學介紹心理輔導服務。

如遇以下情況,則顯示該同學可能有轉介的需要:

  • 希望增加自我了解、改善人際關係、探索並發展自我潛能、以及提升心理素質
  • 學習表現突變,如成績嚴重下跌或上課出席率變低
  • 體重、個人自理或衛生方面有顯著改變
  • 對事情有不尋常或過分誇張的情緒反應
  • 覺得難以適應學校的生活,對解決問題感到無力
  • 長期處於悲傷、緊張、壓抑或其他困擾的情緒
  • 出現具破壞性的行為,如有攻擊性、挑釁性或暴力的行為
  • 無法清晰地與他人溝通,如說話含糊不清、語義混淆或思想混亂
  • 與現實脫軌,如有幻覺或妄想等
  • 有傷害自己或他人的傾向 (遇緊急狀況時請電999)

轉介的注意事項:

  • 請你盡量在轉介前先與該同學討論一下他的情況以及我們的心理轉導服務。若同學不知道是誰人作出轉介或不了解自己為什麼需要轉介,我們的心理輔導員將很難與同學建立信任關係。其實大部分的同學在面對困難時,都希望得到周遭親友坦誠的關懷及支持。
  • 除危急狀況外(如傷害自己或傷害他人),同學有權決定是否接受服務
  • 你可以轉介同學前來諮詢。心理輔導員會與同學會面及進行評估,並在同學的書面同意下的向轉介者提供適當的建議或安排。
  • 你可以轉介同學前來接受心理輔導。輔導員會與同學會面、進行評估、擬定計劃並開始輔導過程。
  • 基於保密原則,我們必需將同學的所有資料嚴格保密。除非獲學生本人的書面同意,我們的心理輔導員不會向任何人士透露學生的資料,包括該同學的轉介者。
  • 如遇緊急情況,可致電保安中心(電話:8822 4000),在非辦公室時間需要緊急的輔導服務,致電24小時澳門明愛生命熱線(電話:2852 5222)。如情況緊急,請直接到急症室(電話:999)求助。

想一想:

  • 社會上真的有輕鬆容易又快捷的賺錢方法嗎?
  • 你曾從事水貨活動嗎?你知道有可能涉及違法問題嗎?

 

現時不少年輕人會選擇在課餘時間兼職工作,賺取金錢用作日常開支。而「走水貨」一直被社會戲稱為「筍工」,只需留下個人身份資料給商家,然後替其把貨物帶離澳門出境,便可獲得不俗的報酬。但是,這份看似簡單的「筍工」,實際上卻是危機四伏。

 

根據澳門《對外貿易法》,從事水貨活動者,最高可被科處澳門幣十萬元;其次,隨意將個人身份資料交給陌生人,亦有機會被不法份子利用從事不法行為,例如個人資料盜用或偽造等。更值得留意的是,過往曾有毒販將毒品可卡因放入奶粉罐,偽裝成嬰兒奶粉,或將液態可卡因偽裝成紅酒,嘗試通關並帶入本澳。因此,「走水貨」亦有可能誤墮毒網,而根據澳門《禁毒法》,運載、進出口毒品最高可被判處15年徒刑,情節嚴重者,更可加重至20年徒刑。

 

若想要賺取日常零用錢,建議從事正當的兼職工作,避免因一時貪圖「筍工」的便利快捷,而承擔違法風險。

心情怪怪的,但又形容不了?

明明沒做甚麼,但就是感覺很累?

莫名其妙的會感到煩燥、口乾?

作為學生,我們常常面臨各種壓力和挑戰,有時候會感到焦慮、沮喪、無助或孤獨。這些都是正常的情緒,但如果我們不加以注意和處理,就可能影響我們的身心健康和生活品質。所以,我想跟你分享一個很重要的技巧:情緒覺察。

情緒覺察並不難,只要花一點時間和精力就可以培養。以下是一些實用的方法:

每天花幾分鐘靜下心來,注意自己的呼吸、身體感受和思緒流動。 

當你遇到困難或衝突時,不要立刻做出反應或判斷,而是先試著理解自己在想什麼、有什麼感覺。 

用一些形容詞來描述自己的情緒,例如開心、難過、生氣、驚訝等等。如果可以,也可以用更具體的詞彙來細分你的情緒層次,例如興奮、失望、恐慌、好奇等等。 

記錄自己每天的情緒變化和原因,可以用文字、圖畫或其他方式來表達。 

與信任的人分享你的感受和想法,聽聽他們的看法和建議。 

透過以上這些方法,你就可以開始培養情緒覺察了!相信我,這對你的幸福感有很大的幫助!

當然,情緒覺察並不代表你就能夠完全控制或改變你的情緒。有時候你可能還需要尋求專業人士或其他資源來協助你處理複雜或困難的情況。但至少你已經開始了這段旅程,歡迎你和我們一起更多探索情緒,透過「情緒覺察工作坊」,一起來啟動你的「情緒探測器」吧!

Have you ever tried…

The mood is strange, but can not describe?

You don’t do anything, but you feel tired?

Do you feel irritated and dry-mouthed for no reason at all?

As students, we often face various pressures and challenges, and sometimes we feel anxious, depressed, helpless or lonely. These are all normal emotions, but if we don’t pay attention to them and deal with them, they can affect our physical and mental health and quality of life. So I want to share with you a very important skill: emotional awareness.

Emotional awareness is not difficult and can be cultivated with a little time and effort. Here are some practical ways to do this:

Take a few minutes each day to quiet your mind and pay attention to your breathing, body feelings, and the flow of your thoughts. 

When you encounter a difficulty or a conflict, instead of reacting or judging immediately, try to understand what you are thinking and feeling. 

Use adjectives to describe your emotions, such as happy, sad, angry, surprised, and so on. If you can, you can also use more specific words to break down your emotional levels, such as excited, disappointed, panicked, curious, etc. 

Record your daily mood changes and the reasons for them, either in words, pictures or other ways. 

Share your feelings and thoughts with people you trust and listen to their opinions and suggestions. 

With these methods, you can begin to develop emotional awareness! Believe me, it will do wonders for your happiness!

Of course, being emotionally aware does not mean that you can completely control or change your emotions. Sometimes you may need to seek professional or other resources to help you deal with complex or difficult situations. But at least you’ve started the journey. You’re welcome to explore more about emotions with us, and to activate your “emotion detector” through the Emotional Awareness Workshop!

到訪澳門,與本澳知名心理學專家和教育界領導進行學術分享交流,透過座談會促進多方交流合作,共護青少年心理健康。

Given that the novel coronavirus infection has become a global concern over the past few years. CCISTC is inviting the globally renowned psychologist – Nicola Clayton, Fellow of the Royal Society and Professor

設定目標時你該避開的三種地雷

同學們,當你回想起2022年時,你是否還記得最初充滿熱情和動力時所設定的目標?或許你已經實現了一些,這確實值得慶賀,但那些年復一年都未能達成的目標呢?是否仍然讓你感到沮喪和失望?

為什麼會出現這種情況呢?

其實在設定目標時,我們可能會遇到三種地雷,我稱之為 #三個Too

  1. #Too Big 目標太大:當目標過於宏大和遙遠時,保持動力和取得進展可能會變得非常困難。相反,我們應該嘗試將大目標拆分為一些更小、更易實現的目標,逐步完成。這樣一來,我們就能避免疲憊或停滯不前的感覺。
  2. #Too Broad 目標太籠統:過於籠統或抽象的目標往往很難規劃和實現。為了讓目標更具體、更易實現,我們可以明確自己想要實現的內容,並設定明確的衡量標準以衡量進展。例如,不要說“我想學習英語”,而應該設定一個更具體的目標,如“我想在一年內將我的英語水準從B1提高到B2”。
  3. #Too Much 目標太繁雜:想要在有限的時間內實現多個目標令人有衝勁,但有時不是非常實際。相反,我們需要學會權衡取捨,優先考慮最重要的目標。設定過多目標會導致壓力和疲勞感,讓人難以享受過程中的快樂和滿足感,最終影響整體成效。

避免這三種地雷,你將能更好地完成自己的目標,並在過程中感到更加充實和滿足。所以,花些時間反思你今年設定要完成的目標,看看會否踩到了這些地雷吧!至於如何利用工具幫助自己更好實踐目標,這部份我們下次再談。

 

 

Three Traps we should avoid when setting our goal

“Remember the goals you set for yourself in 2022? Maybe you’ve achieved some of them, which is worth celebrating. But what about the ones that keep falling through every year? It can be frustrating to see these goals go unaccomplished, despite your initial excitement and motivation. So, why does this happen?

There are three common traps that you may encounter when setting goals. Let’s call them the three #Too’s:

  1. Too Big: When goals are too big and far away, it can be challenging to stay motivated and make progress. Instead of setting overly ambitious goals that may not be feasible, try breaking them down into smaller, achievable goals that can be completed in stages. This way, you’ll avoid feeling burnt out or stagnant.
  2. Too Broad: Goals that are too broad or abstract can be challenging to plan and implement. To make your goals more concrete and achievable, try being specific about what you want to achieve and set clear metrics for measuring your progress. For example, instead of saying “I want to learn English,” try setting a goal like “I want to improve my English from B1 to B2 in one year.”
  3. Too Much: It’s tempting to set multiple goals to become the best version of yourself as quickly as possible. However, it’s not always feasible to accomplish multiple goals in a limited amount of time. Instead, learn to make trade-offs and prioritize the goals that are most important to you. Setting too many goals can lead to stress and burnout, making it difficult to enjoy the journey and ultimately affect your overall efficiency.

By avoiding these three #Too’s, you’ll be better equipped to achieve your goals and feel more fulfilled along the way. So, take a moment to reflect on your goals for this year and see if any of these traps apply to you. Remember, it’s never too late to adjust your goals and create a plan for success.

Introduction: While it is important to learn leadership and critical thinking in college, the ability of developing good sleep is equally important. Through this seminar, you can master the skills to enter a good sleep.

Objective: To help students better understand the importance of sleep, to reveal the myth of sleep, to teach sleep hygiene and to provide useful instructions for students troubled by insomnia.

Safe School Network Bulletin by Judiciary Police

Dear students,

Chinese New Year is approaching, the Youth Concern Group of the Judiciary Police would like to send our greetings to all students, wishing you a Happy New Year and may you all be healthy and successful!
Lunar Festival is the golden period for traveling. Since all borders have fully reopened, many residents may choose to spend their holidays abroad, rendering their homes attractive targets for burglars. As such, the Judiciary Police would like to remind you to be extra careful and take necessary precautions to safeguard your house. While traveling, remain vigilant at all times to eliminate opportunities for criminals.
We also kindly remind students to play with fireworks only at locations and within time frames designated by the government so you will not set fire unintentionally and commit arson.
Theft prevention tips for the holiday season:
1. When traveling abroad, please request your family, friends, or neighbors to empty your mailbox so that criminals will not realize your house is empty.
2. Avoid keeping too much cash or luxury items at home and make sure all doors and windows are safely locked.
3. If supply of water and electricity suddenly halts, immediately contact your apartment manager to accompany you to check out the situation.
4. Make sure your possessions are within sight when you are out attending activities.
5. Keep valuables e.g. wallet, phone, etc. in indiscernible places such as inner pockets of your clothes so they are out of criminals’ reach.
6. Be alert when someone approaches you on purpose.
7. The better you keep your belongings, the less likely you will be victimized.

新春佳節正是外遊度歲的黃金檔期,再加上現時本澳己全面通關,相信不少市民 都會選擇外遊度歲,此時賊人亦伺機蠢蠢欲動。在此,司法警察局特別提醒各位需加強防罪意識,外遊前做好家居防盜措施,遊玩期間亦須時刻提高警惕,勿讓不法份子有機可乘。

此外,亦溫馨提醒同學們如要體驗爆竹煙花耍樂活動,切勿在政府指定燃放區及 時段以外進行,以免不小心釀成火警而觸犯刑法。

節假日防盜小錦囊:

  1. 如外出旅遊,請親友或鄰居代為清理信箱中的信件,並把家中電話的鈴聲調 低,免讓不法之徒發現屋內無人;
  2. 避免於家中存放過多現金或貴重物品,外出前要鎖好門窗及窗花;
  3. 如家中突然停水停電,應立即聯絡管理處或找人陪同前往查看;
  4. 外出活動時,切勿讓財物離開自己的視線範圍;
  5. 錢包、手機等貴重物品應放在衣服內袋等賊人不易觸及的地方;
  6. 如發現任何人故意靠近,須提高警覺;
  7. 緊記錢財不可露眼,減低被賊人盯上的機會。
